Performance is absolute shit-tier on consoles. Upper bounds of 900p on base PS4 and lower bounds of 720p. 720p most of the time. Shit TAA and the game looks blurry. Spends most of its time somewhere in-between 900p and 720p. NOWHERE near 30fps. Mostly in the mid 20's with frequent dips into the tens. Reminiscent of a Switch port.

PS4 Pro 2112x1188 upper bound. Much better frame rate. Far from being great but acceptable.

In addition, the game features a myriad of bugs, has an ugly built-in TAA you cannot remove even on PC, no AA slider and performance even without RTX could certainly be better.

It should have been a PC release first with a ~6month wait for consoles. It should also never have been released on old gen consoles.

Clearly unfinished and the last gen consoles are clearly shit. The game can run at 60fps on PS5 and Series X. So, it is not that bad on those.

@IgGy621985: 60f-70fps on High at 3440x1440.

Not great but could be worse.

I'm quit happy with the performance of the game on my PC. It looks great and I'm running at 1440P with DLS on 'Ultra performance'. Not sure what internal resolution that puts the game in before it's cleverly up-scaled, going by Control as a comparison it must be just about 720P? Well, it certainly doesn't look that low.

i7-8700, 16GB and an RTX 2080

My frame rate with RTX on is mostly 60 fps with some dips, but with a G-Sync monitor you don't really feel it.

The devs have a good track record of optimising their games, but I think the base console versions should have been cancelled. It can't see how they can improve them much more.

Tough situation for them, I feel for the devs. I’m sure there was a lot of financial pressure to get game out there.

But CDPR has a good reckord of post game support. So I’m sure they will make it right.

I one... hundred... percent agree. CDPR knew this game was too ambitious for older hardware. It's not doing owners of those platforms any favors. Now too many people's first impression of the game is gonna be horrid. This is proving to be a crossgen disaster.

@Juub1990:

This is what i was telling people who claimed the PS4 and xbox one should be supported still, you can dumb down the settings but would you really want this shitty experience?

Frames into the 16? and this is the PS4 version imagine how much sadder the xbox one version would be.

@tormentos: I'd actually suspect they're about the same. Cyberpunk hits the CPU really hard, I had an average of 90% utilization across 8 cores and 16 threads. Xbox One does have the faster CPU.

This game is well optimized for what it is and what it does. It's not meant for last gen hardware and I think people who have those consoles should have tempered their expectations and been happy CDPR spent any time tying their masterpiece to 12 year old hardware.

definitely glad i'm waiting for the next-gen patch for consoles.. this game needs optimization badly (at least in terms of the bugs).. i'm sure things will be ironed out in time though

The game is 720p on PS4 most of the time so yeah it surely is worse on xbox, that 150mhz serve for nothing the witcher was the same once the game was patch the PS4 actually out performed the xbox one after everyone was claiming the PS4 was CPU bottleneck on a 30FPS game.

The biggest hit is GPU wise, not all frame drops are CPU oriented even more on a 30FPS game.

This is a very rough game on many levels, one I am enjoying though but also somewhat disappointing. As far as my enjoyment I feel the pacing is hindered maybe by my OCD tendencies, think of like Prey (2017) or Bioshock and how ever room is a goldmine of collectibles to loot. Unlike say The Elder Scrolls or Fallout though NPCs don't seem to care if say in their hideout you go in just exploring and taking whatever you want. So like in a mission when I should just be going where it says I am exploring though and taking what I can then by the time I get back to getting on track I most forget what I was doing. It works in a game like Bioshock or Prey when the narrative is one of survival and the player is scrounging for supplies and if you see anybody there will mostly likely be a fight. This is a bit weird here though.

@Juub1990: runs great on Series X. It’s a next generation game running on PS4 and Xbox One. It’s just too much for them to handle.

On quality mode for Series X the game looks fantastic and is locked at 30fps. With performance mode, still looks great especially with the crowd density and runs pretty smoothly. Can’t notice drops once in a while but nothing major. CP2077 is awesome.

@BassMan: is the HDR broken? I just figured I hadn't figured out the HDR tuning yet. It has my least preferable kind of HDR tuning too, the one where you just get a picture and some sliders, I effing hate those. Normally I prefer a "slide until the far logo disappears and the other logo is barely visible" kind of setups, normally, but my TV also does an exceptionally job with contrasting both light and dark though and following some HDR/brightness setup instructions goes oh so wrong I usually keep having to reset to default and toying with them.

Played CP this weekend a bit.

Well, it definitely is a demanding game, but I'm happy it's more than playable on my Vega 56.

I've been using medium-high settings at 1080p. Framerate can be all over the place sometimes, but it's usually in the area of 45-60 fps.

It should work great for you on your 1080 Ti @R4gn4r0k

Nevertheless, it's time to upgrade.

tbh the base PS4 and Xbox versions probably shouldn't exist or should have come with a disclaimer pre-purchase, CDPR are stepping up and owning it now but they should have done more to tell people beforehand. I'm interested in how certain area's play on the last gen consoles, particularly a "park" area in downtown which has a lot of NPC's walking around and a lot of foliage, I'm running it on an i7 9700K and an RTX 2070 super 16GB ram from an SSD, dropped down to 1080P and high for most things, ambient occlusion off, Raytracing on, most of the time 45-60fps but that particular area chugs hard and I can't imagine how the last gen consoles handle that.

But I'm definitely waiting on better hardware to play this, and having the game being fixed is another plus. Waiting for the best possible experience :D

i mean when trying to use hdr and 4k at the same time. windows has core issues with it. even if a game using it it.. it will freak out. big M has yet to fix it. with game dev trying work around on it.

I know there were issues in the past, but I have been using Windows in 4K and HDR on my TV for a while now and it works fine. I only turn it on when needed for games though. I prefer to run SDR for desktop content.

If you are having issues with it freaking out, then it is most likely an issue with the cable not delivering enough bandwidth.

I saw the meme's for graphics pop-in issues for this game on Xbox One and I thought surely they can't be that bad, right? Well they weren't lying. That's pretty bad. Walk up to certain NPC's and they look like crap for a few seconds until the textures load-in.

Sure it does. It has all the issues of the PC version with added limitations and issues. No ultrawide, no high refresh rate, no VRR, no mods, added input lag, compression, etc..

@ghost_of_phobos: negative. Mine runs smooth as butter. Looks fantastic too. Once you turn off film grain and that other thing. Without it the game is so fuzzy. But yeah, mine runs great. It’s rare you ever notice a drop in frames.

I haven’t even come across any bugs or glitches outside of my bike hitting a wall and gets stuck. That’s it.
