A shame. I expected the PC version to have some aces up its sleeves. It being the lead platform, and releasing quite a bit later, gave me that impression.

Yes they lied. They are incompetent graphical devs. Their game design is the best though, and good thing for PC mods to ramp up the graphics. I don't think they will mod the lighting though, oh well.

i am aware of that me old china. i mean the pc version, for bugs and stuff. i want to hear from end users.

if there are too many bugs, i might wait for patches to be released, and all the while that's happening - the price is only going to go down.

Ouch. This is gonna hurt the pc community even more. Tons of commenters online talking about just sticking with the console version for bigger player base. Throw in the hackers on pc version, and the community is gonna be just as bad as DS1.

Only delusional people thought From Software was actually serious about the whole "PC version will be the lead platform and it will look a lot better". FSW has barely any experience making games for the PC and are primarily a console dev.

I guess they are delusional. how can people really believe From is going to waste extra resources on the PC version when it's going to bring in a fraction of the revenue? The delay and reveal only confirmed that they were full of sht when they claimed pc version was lead.

@Wasdie: Newsflash developers don't spend millions of dollars to "lie" to people or to fake people out.

You have to look at the time/money aspect of making PC games, they are not going to spent an extra amount of time making changes to the game and play testing it for PC which accounts for probably 10% of the total sales. To be honest after seeing the preview videos I'm glad they changed some of the lighting to be brighter. Making the while game like tomb of the giants would piss me off, kinda makes the lighting torches thing a bit pointless in most areas but oh well.

I hope they have at least took some of the optimisation out of the game though, the PS3 version at least has issues when you pan the camera you can see objects and parts of the level pop and animations on enemies have a lower update rate and so on, the PC does not need that. If that is left in then From Software are being a bunch of trolls.

They did and would have continued doing it if people on NeoGAF didn't go crazy over the downgrade.

Main reason they lied is because they were showing off screenshots and footage of the old build to sell the game when it didn't even look the same anymore. They only recently removed the screenshots from Steam because of a twitter campaign against them labeled "#YOULIED"

My only hope now is that the PC version doesn't run like ass and doesn't have the insane input lag my PS3 version has

Quit bitching and just play the damn game. It's great, pretty much on par with the first. Which means it's definitely worth playing.

Yes they did. Video game developers/publishers seem like they are exempt from the regulations that protect consumers from misleading selling practices, like false advertising.

Its relatively old news they lied about the visuals in this game. Though its not just the PC version, the console version was also downgraded.

They did lie and if wasn't such a Souls whore i'd be annoyed but at this point i just want the pc version so gimme. With SweetFX and texture mods it'll look better than what was originally shown

that is because the majority play on ps3 and good graphics in a Souls game is something they ever saw. Fromsoftware need to step up their shit and create Dark Souls 3 on a proper engine when it comes to ps4 and you'll see every Souls fan care about graphics.
