I like the pricing of the system for what you get nobody can really argue with that my only worry with the system is the RAM especially when cross gen games are gone.

Yeah I watched that last night. Pretty good video. Not the system for me but I do think that it’s an interesting and smart strategy on Microsoft’s part. I’m interested in seeing more analysis and breakdowns of the system and game performance in the future.

It can't do X enhanced because as another cost saver, it only has 8 GB RAM.

Have to say there is certainly some questions about how well it will perform but to keep it that low a price I guess they had to make cuts.

I think the Series S exists at such a low price just to force people to buy their games from the MS store. There's going to be a shit ton of buyers remorse when people take their console home and stare in disbelief at the insanely overpriced games on the MS store knowing there's nowhere else to get them. I can see a lot of day one returns.

Until digital prices come down people will still want the option to buy discs. But MS are much, much worse for this than Sony who regularly have actual sales with great prices, as opposed to MS sales that basically reduce prices down to what other people are selling at for a brief period.

Series S is not the bargain everyone thinks it is unless you don't plan on buying any games for it. If you're happy sticking to Game Pass and ignoring big AAA releases there might be some merit in it but I don't know any gamers who would be happy with that.

Waiting for a price drop isn't a strategy you can use here either, digital titles don't lose value over time anywhere near as quickly as disc based games do.

It'll be lower quality graphics at a lower resolution.

(I have no problem with that but, it needs to be made clear so folks don't just think they'll get the same graphics at a lower resolution.)

@blueinheaven: true - I don't understand why MS store prices are so bad. At least on PC. Sales are rare and usually trash (good FH3 closeout sale right now though, for those looking).

It's actually made for people like you who still play on 1080p TV's. If you buy an XSX you're throwing $200 extra away on benefits you'll never see.

I love how they mention the current economy and then be all positive about the S because of its low price point. If you're low on cash, stick to your current console. Like seriously. At first they were impressed with the CoD RT which looked welfare level, and now this. DF is drunk right now.
