Digital Foundry is at it again. This time taking alook at how Capcom managed to cram Resident Evil 2 onto an objectively mediocre console.

Imo Indiana Jones and Infernal Machine was far more ambitious. (Since no one thought that a game similar to Tomb Raider is possible on Nintendo 64)

The thing to take into account here, is that RE2 was essentially 2/4 games with FMV's. N64 used cartridges which sucked ass for this sort of thing.

They ported the game to a handheld called the Game.com. Far more ambitious.

I actually had this. The system was interesting regardless that it lacked color. A cool part of the device was that you could put two cartridges in at the same time. Done well before DS. The carts were small for the time too being about 1 inch square.

They did magic with the music though for N64..that's quite good..the rest were meh..too much compression.

Ah, I remember RE: 2 on the N64.

This version, with the expansion pack plugged in, looked better than even the PC version (which was saying a lot back in those days). God, I used to marvel at this one so much and always referenced it as a testimony to what the N64 was actually capable of.

To this day I really feel that this is the one and only N64 game that utilized the system's abilities the best.
