So...if you actually watch the video....and actually listen to what they are saying....the PS5 version is overall the best version of a PC ported multiplatform game, again.

Johnny L, you can't say native 4K is a waste of resources and then lay heaps of praise on this game for locking it at the cost of significant FPS loss in certain scenes. This dude has made going after judder in console games his life's work. Even cutscenes in RDR2 that dropped 4 FPS didn't get past this guy, no way. But the XSX dropping as many as 8-10 because of...tall grass....is not only acceptable, but preferable to the PS5 version that doesn't drop even a single frame in the same area.

So, once again, a video game is misrepresented by amateur, hackneyed conjecture and blind guessing based on video capture footage. Gotcha.

I would also like to add that 1800P is indistinguishable from 2160P on anything less than a 65" screen, and even then, it's questionable. I will give credit for those slightly better shadows though, it obviously makes a....uhh....virtually impossible to spot difference in the overall presentation and atmosphere of the game.

These types of games are never going to shine a bright light on the deep-state of console performance, they're ports of a PC game with the sliders dialed back here and there. Whatever they are is whatever the port teams could come up with by the time the ship date hit, it's not something that is conscious of the specific strengths and weaknesses of any platform, because that's how all PC games are always made.

I just don't like to see games get drug through mud over miniscule compromises, and then see the areas they thrive in get washed out over some bad Xbox PR. The PS5 version in better.

720p is 66% of 1080p

It's running identical settings with the exception of shadows. I mean it's only natural to think the PS5 is being held back as it consistently beats the XSX in most other comparison's.

AC Valhalla runs at lower settings and lower resolution then the PS5.. so is that the developers fault or is that all the XSX can handle?

If the PS5 were to bump its resolution, it would likely cost that framerate. So then you'd have resolution parity but shittier framerate. Why would you want that? Meanwhile, you'd still be running at lower settings. Doesn't seem like a win. If anything, I'd suggest the XSX is being pushed too hard in its quest for higher resolutions, and I'd prefer the PS version with better framerates. But here you are actively arguing against that benefit...

4k and Ultra textures is where it is at.

It depends for me it's all about balance. Will take better IQ over a slightly less stable framerate in a slow paced game like this ? Probably.

Would I in something like Doom or Devil may Cry 5? Probably not.

The PS5 has won about 80% of the comparisons thus far.
