Looking sweet. Waited for such frantic and over the top action for years. Only Bayonetta compares. Here's hoping Hideki Kamiya is also hard at work on his spiritual successor to Scalebound.
Edit: Gameplay Trailer
This topic is locked from further discussion.
This game looks like a return to form with the spirit of the original DMC in tacked...all the other wanna be's and imitations trying to copy the formula were just eradicated from memory.
Yes to all of this, they brought it back right!
This will be my first Day 1 DMC in a long time, HYPE!
Its looking great.
Looks fantastic. But I'm more looking forward to Biomutant and Darksiders III.
Plus I still need to play the HD collection.
More gameplay has been shown for Biomutant and Darksiders III. Biomutant has been delayed to the summer of 2019.
Now this trailer was legit. That E3 trailer left a sour taste in my mouth
there is also gameplay, better put this in your OP aswell I'm too lazy to create a thread about it
looks very repetitive and will get boring very fast.
Welcome to the hack n slash genre. Nice to meet you, I'm tom.
I was really nervous about the DmC vibes I got from the initial trailer, but the gameplay here looks very good, albeit a bit slow. Still looking pretty good.
The soundtrack is just awful though. What the hell.
This game is shaping up to be the greatest Hack n Slash ever made
Get that boring witch time mechanic outta here! The king is back!
Ninja theory's DMC will always be the one true Devil May Cry in my eyes.

While I enjoyed DmC and thought that it was a pretty good game it just didn’t feel like a proper Devil May Cry game to me. I’m very happy with Capcom doing it and it feels like a return to form for the franchise to me.

Your ignorance is showing... it's as repetitive as a fighting game i.e. is repetitive if you are pulling out the same basic combos over and over again without any variation i.e. no skill whatsoever
The soundtrack is just awful though. What the hell.
Ya know what? I thought that aswell in the 1st E3 trailer but for some stupid and cheesy reason the song has been growing on me the more I hear it
I wish they were more cool looking combos, like ninja gaiden or Bayonetta
You must be new to DMC, uh?
DMC has crazier combos than Bayo or NG, they're just harder to pull off. If DMC isnt being played by a skilled player, you would never see them

I have seen these. DMC4 combos definitely look lacklustre. Just looping the same 2 or 3 moves.
Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden 3:RE on the other hand look dope.
Thats my opinion

Opinions can still be factually wrong
Ninja gaiden combat system is not combo based but rather about quick reflexes of dodging an blocking. Not a combo based Hack'n'slash at all. Bayonetta has an impressive list of combos, sure, but they are way easier to pull off than in DMC. You can mash buttons in Bayonetta and do impressive stuff without any skill at all. DMC on the other hand, requires a player who knows what he's actually doing in order to pull of impressive stuff.
I beat all the Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta 1 on hard btw

Cant show you Ninja Gaiden Sigma's trophies cause it didnt had any but I can show you a picture of the game if you dont believe me
Just looping the same 2 or 3 moves.
yup, you definitely know sh*t about Hack'n'Slash games
looks very repetitive and will get boring very fast.
This has more going for it than Doom 2016 has, so how's that possible?

I just meant this is what hack n slash games look like. I'm not putting down the genre or play style.

So this is a weird one: I only ever played DMC Devil May Cry and I loved it. Yet fans are like no, it's not a good devil may cry game. What are the things that fans didn't like about it? Is there more to it than the stylistic issues?

Personally the problem i've had with DMC revolves around the characters. Gameplay is great, but i dislike the characters, the dialogue and their motivations.
Never got a copy myself, i have played it in a friends house.

Exactly. I remember there used to be huge arguments on this board about this issue and it was as if the people saying NG is about combos never played beyond easy mode. Sure, there are combos in the game, but on Master Ninja mode, you will die if you try to dial them in even on a regular enemy -- it becomes more about dodging and timing, and jumping hard slash is basically the most useful tool you have.
