Not feeling the realistic characters.
The realistic characters remind me of DmC... I mean, Nero even looks like DmC Dante.
But I don't mind, as long as the gameplay and style are still like the old DMC games.
Seriously, am I'm the only one who was cool with DmC for what it was? I treat it as a spin-off else world. I actually enjoy it, it was almost on par with Metal Gear Rising in a sense.

I liked DmC. It reminded me of Blade for some reason. Replace Vampires with demons.
Some of the boss fights were quite creative, Bob Barbas was a brilliant parody, the highlight of the game as far as i'm concerned.
It's just odd seeing this hyper-realistic style carried over the original games.

I wouldn't say it's as good as Rising (gameplay-wise), but it's a good game. Certainly better than the trainwreck DMC2, and the old GOW games for that matter.
I think i remember saying something along the lines of Capcom's plan for DMC5 being "Hope that Granblue Fantasy Relink doesn't get a PC verison"
They'll likely get their wish with Platinum's contract with Cygames ending, though it still seems to be an extremely ballsy move to make a new Devil May Cry game in a world where PlatinumGames exists. I guess the next best thing to do is to compare DMC5 with Babylon's Fall?

I honestly feel people are so stupid sometimes, wow Dante had a change of look which wasn't even that emo look - game sucks. -_-
@blackballs: I think the issue is more that the game is mechanically bad on top of being poorly written, combined with really garbage PR from Ninja Theory at the time. People complained very hard about gameplay and not entirely on visuals and journalists tried to frame it as if people just didn't like his hair.
DMC5 is very good.
My old 970gtx should run this game pretty damn good just like RE2 I got a PS4 but will take the PC version over it most likely game looks great.
Cool. I'm itiching for some good hack and slash games, especially since Bayonetta made me crave for some more. Hope this plays well like DmC(It's a good game mechanically, regardless of the characters and story).

Blasphemy.
And I also agree on the realistic characters thing.

...And now that Nero looks very similar to DmC Dante, no one seems to be complaining anymore.

Lol, for real. To me it seemed like people were just hating on the game to hate. If anything Nero looks even more emo.
And tbh, I've always felt like Dante looked metrosexual like most Japanese games. Not a fan of his look anyhow.
@blackballs: The backlash started with the first trailer, where DmC Dante was an emo teen who is smoking and has black tats and stuff. After the backlash, Ninja Theory dialled back on that stuff. But the first bad impression didn't go away. And then there was the 30fps limit, which created more backlash. So the hate wasn't entirely unjustified, even if it wasn't entirely fair.

People are just whiney bi****. If they changed it listening to gamers they still complained about it?
Yeah, it looks good. I'm really liking this revitalized Capcom. RE7 was a pleasant surprise, REmake 2 as good as it is and now DMCV back to its roots (even though I didnt disliked DmC). Nice Capcom, nice. Hopefully people respond with their wallets

Well, I don't quite get the hate for DmC Dante... But I do understand the backlash over the 30fps thing (which was fixed in later ports).
Played the demo today. Still don't like the realistic art style. The controls were the same, which is good, but I could barely do anything with the limited unlocks.
It would be nice to see a statistic of how many players actually like this chromatic abberation shit. It's in RE2 as well. And every other game this generation.

This honestly scared me so much when I saw the initial trailer. I thought it was a sequel to DmC rather than a real devil may cry game. Good thing its not. Like you said, as long as the gameplay is like a devil may cry game, we're all good.
