DESTINY beta is live, thoughts and impressions

Was offered a key and didn't even want it.

I'm hyped not for beta but when its fully released, reminds me of ME3 mp which I enjoyed a lot

I do not care about hype, the game must always talk for itself, Adverts and PR can go die in a ditch. So far I am cautiously optimistic about it, it has some good ideas, let us see about the execution of those ideas.

It seems every gameplay video I watch bores me a little more.

It's only that high because the last time I played an MMO was EQ in the late 90's. I'll probably get excited for a more fantasy based MMORPG. What's that? I should play ES Online? lolololololololololol

I enjoyed the Alpha and can't wait to play some more Destiny, been a big Bungie fan since Halo:CE

This is one awful thread in the awful forum that is System Wars. If you think that this thread somehow indicates that Destiny won't sell well in the real world, you're in for a real surprise come September.

Destiny will certainly be the best selling game in September and it may end up being the biggest game of 2014. It has the pedigree, it has the hype, and it's cross-gen, mulit-platform. Oh, yeah, and the alpha was amazing.

I personally am loving the hate this game receives around here. It means that my tastes are different than the rabid fanchildren that roam this forum. :)

Not really feeling the hype. I didn't like Borderlands. I loved Halo so I'm giving this beta a chance. If I'm not impressed I'm not buying. At least not right away. If I don't care for the beta I'll wait for this game to go budget price.

My hype right now at a mildly interested 3 (long time Bungie fan). Playing the Beta next week could change this. I hope the Beta is fun, but if not I'll save $60. My interest in Bungie games has always been for the single player experience. I love the strategy involved in their games when playing on Heroic and/or Legendary. Hopefully some of this remains in Destiny.

I can go home and play Borderlands 2 instead. Shrug. And I don't even want to play that so why would I want to play Destinylands 3?

Because Bungie, marketing budget, "true next gen experience" and Playstation exclusive content

gonna keep a running tally of all the herms that are downplaying destiny. if and when it releases for PC, just watch all the 180s theyll do, and embrace it, denying they ever said otherwise

I'm excited to check it out for sure... I'm just a little worried that MP is going to dominate most of this game. I want to play it as a mostly SP experience and from what I've seen/read, won't be as good that way.

No hype for the Beta, because I almost never do betas to begin with.

I was moderately interested in the game, but now I'm thinking it's more likely I'll pass. The few people I run with in FPSes aren't very interested, so little reason for me to jump in.

0 hype for beta will wait for full release.

Now with few hrs before beta goes live i am kinda tagged to try it out. I hope the game surprise me...in a good way :D

I can't play the Beta because I'm getting the digital version, and it's only available if you buy it through a , "participating retailer." Oh well, I'm going to play it when it comes out, but not incentive can make me buy physical copies again.

im pretty sure if u pre-order the digital version from psn they provide a beta key

I never liked the Halo games so I'm not expecting much from this game.

Im not hyped at all. I want to be hyped but I cant shrug the feeling that between games like mass effect and halo series...iv'e seen it all before. Im reading about it and thinking "yeah this is all well and good but....whats new". Whats the incentive to pick this game up rather than wait for the next Halo with its solid mechanics and established lore.

My friend is getting the Xbox One version, so that's the one I am getting. And I don't see any way to preorder the digital version on Xbox.com or the One itself. Oh well... I'm getting the game anyway.

I had two beta codes that I entered on the Bungie site. I'm choosing the PS3 and Xbox One to play. I'm waiting for the PS3 beta to go live. Anyone got in yet?

You need to go to the Bungie site to get your PSN codes. Amazon should have sent you a code for the bungie site when you pre-ordered destiny, check your mail. Oh, both Bungie and PSN are being hammered right now.

The PoSN store is burning to the ground right now so I guess there are many people excited about the game.

Apparently the game needs to sell 15 million to break even.

Be interesting to see how many review sites have "glowing" reviews.
