i thought UC2 would beat that in best ps3 game and overall but gamespot surprised me:o

It deserved it.

So how in the world did Infamous get IPotY?

I don't agree with it, I thought U2 should have been the clear winner.

But DS is still deserving, a very good game.

Though, a better upset pick would have been The Sims 3.

Now I want a PS3 even more. :cry:

other sites use .1 increments gs uses .5

uncharted 2 deserves GOTY yet they give it to demon souls

and if demon souls is goty why did infamous get IPOTY?

I love DS to death but im starting to think that UC2 shouldve got it.

Can you stop assuming there's always a conspiracy going on? I wanted UC2 and DAO to win too, but whats fact is fact now. :)

Can't argue with this at all. I wanted Dragon Age to win, but Demon's Souls was my other favorite game of the year and one of the best role playing games of the generation in my opinion.

While i think that Demon's was indeed great and deserved its score its not as good as Dragon Age in my oppinion.

UC2 was really good too but had many flaws it was in no way the perfect game some PS fanboys make it out to be. Way too linear for my taste, poor AI and cliché characters. (The russian bad guy - so typical)

Was planning on getting this after Christmas sometime. I'm a little afraid of the difficulty, but very excited for the game regardless.

Well seems like Uncharted 2 is going to take pretty much all GotY rewards this year (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=381841 .) Its only fair that Demon's Soul gets some love too :)

What is actually great about this is how this game came out of nowhere and gained it's rep mainly due to word of mouth alone. It is actually refreshing for a change, instead of having one of the usual suspect hype train games winning.
