@hardwenzen: This is where Cow logic astounds me....why on earth would critics liking a ps5 game be "a rough start for lems"?
Gloating cows and salty lemmings.
Well is small corridors game with not much on the screen, with little entertainment... I guess is good for people that like harry potter like adventures.
@i_p_daily:
That make me laungh when the xbox has been force to dip into gears tactic, gears 5,and forza H 4 to have something to play.😂😂😂
Naa there are other games to play.
If it wasn't for 3rd party games on both consoles at launch they wouldn't sell nearly as much.
@pc_rocks: yeah... I read your comments on the ambiance, but I gotta say: the original demons souls sucks in many ways. It is a muddy blurry mess, it is an aliased mess, the framerate is terrible, and the controls are clunky. The AI is moronic / barely existent, but that sadly hasn't been touched. This may change the visuals, but it also appears to make the game playable. I can't stand how poorly it controls and runs on PS3. It is laughable to me how people rave about how tight the controls are in souls games when the game drops literally into the teens in combat. It needs what Bluepoint just did BADLY

I'm not the one who ever defended any of that. Actually I'm one of the most vocal critics of performance/control issues however having said that, Bluepoint doesn't deserve a free pass because they downgraded it in other ways. A remake/remaster is SUPPOSED to do all that. And we should also take into account that original DS was a product of its era. It's not like it's the only game with those issues.

What ways? All I see is that some people preferred the original models and lighting in some cases. Well - fair enough, but I think there is no way those types of changes wouldn't come about in the process of such a remake. It's not a remaster.

As someone said to me elsewhere, the art direction should have been handled in house instead of by some gaijin obsessed with identity politics.
This is also good:
These Americans can't do subtlety and dignity like FromSoftware. Good example of that is the Fat Official, how he has warts and an exposed belly now. That's undignified.
The music is revisionist too. Some tracks are downgrades.

It's not about some people. It's about the art direction of the original. They completely changed it. It no longer looks like Demon Souls - a desolated world. It no longer looks like a Miyazaki game. They pretty much changed it to the usual fantasy art style most western devs do.
The world no longer feels as depressed, dark and desolated as in the original.
Blue Point did such an amazing job with this game. Excellent character creation tools. Tons of options and settings to tailor the look in game. Fantastic visual upgrades that really make the game look and the atmosphere feel amazing. Love the riposte and backstab animations. The bare fisted one is particularly cool. Great job upgrading the rag doll animations although I do miss the crazy ones in the original just because they could be a bit goofy. 😅
@pc_rocks: of course it's about some people. Many people think it looks great. So it's your opinion that it is a problem or downgraded. And that's a fine opinion and I'm sorry you are disappointed
My issue is with the faithful adaptation. No one denied that it looks great. It can look great and still have a different style. The art style IS different. Liking and not liking it is a different matter.
Will def be picking this up as my first PS5 game. Demon's is easily the worst of the souls games IMO but I still think it's worth revisiting.
@ezekiel43: identity politics?!? Wtf are you on about. Its fucking Demon's Souls. Are you trying to tell me there's some transgender sjw took our jorbs protest about the monsters in Demon's Souls?
Lol. I feel like Fool's Idol is part of that too. Probably thought the original one was too elegant and beautiful for 2020. Idiots.
I am taking so many pictures in this game that i will fill up the ssd just from taking pictures 😱
Damn why would Sony ever makes new games to cows, just keep rereleasing the same old crap and cows will eat it up...
[x] saddest console launch ever confirmed!
Also game isn’t exclusive, will be out on pc within a year.
Until it's official, DS can only be played on the ps3/ps5.
@pc_rocks: lol at your fake concern. You sound like those fake accounts that review bombs the game. The game is getting praise across the board.
Why would I be showing fake concern? Is there anything preventing me from sh*tting on the game if I want to? You sound upset for some reason.
@hardwenzen: mehh with the pit full small hard drive the ps5 comes with, that’s like 10 pictures at most ehh?:)
Meanwhile over at the Nintendo Switch launch...

Nah man sounds like you have no ammunition and grasping for straws... Haha "art design"? Really? Bet you didn't even play the first one the begin with. It's funny though carry on ;)
Good for fans of the series. I played it back on PS3 and found it mediocre; glitches, the controls and punishing difficulty turned me off big time.

It's a legit point of view whether you like it or not. I don't agree with him personally but he has a right to his opinions, and it has nothing to do with critical reviews.
I loved it originally. It was my gateway to the souls universe, caught me by surprise. Will eventually get it down the line when I get a ps5 in a half year or so.
@Sollet:
I love the original game, one of my favorites of last gen, and this remake is the only game that has me interested in a new console right now.
That being said, it's absolutely a valid criticism. I don't personally consider it a deal breaker by any means, but I am in the camp that would have appreciated a more faithful translation.
@pc_rocks: You always bash anything Sony related, it's your lame schtick. Nobody believes you or cares.
What's wrong with preferring the original style? Do you always like it when new bands do covers of old songs over the original? I sure as hell don't. Just listen to any modern commercial.
@briguyb13: If the new version sounds good or does something new and interesting with the original song, yeah I like them.
Same with remasters, the ps3 game ran and looks like poop by today's standards, the remastered version looks amazing. If the art style changed some so be it. This is just a last desperate attempt by the typical Sony haters to try and knock this game, and it's not working one bit lol.

Very funny, because I'm seeing Sony fans who dislike the new art and music.
PC_Rocks isn't exactly bashful about his opinions. If he wanted to just dunk on the game he'd do it lol. Whether we agree or disagree, he's always been straight forward.
Trying to frame this as some underhanded desperate fanboy shit doesn't hold water. The only fact here is that artistic liberties were taken. How you feel about it is fair either way.
This discussion has been on since the reveal trailer dropped, mainly among fans of the game. It's not exclusively some hater shit lol.

A WiiU port?
This is how all the ones that find negative things to say about the game look and sound like

Sorry, but this place needs to grow up. People can say things without being on one side or the other of issues. Remember how, when we were kids, everything was either white or black, this or that? When we grew up we realized things are never just that.
Let people express their opinions without putting words in their mouths and seeing things with your own personal biases. When you can start to do that, it means you've grown up a little.
