Death Stranding reveal coming today + leaked preorder page UPDATE: release date trailer

A looping video is teasing a “Death Stranding” stream coming Wednesday on the official PlayStation Twitch account.

The stream currently shows handprints appearing, disappearing, and then reappearing in a mass of black goo, showing a little glimpse of images below the surface. It’s weird enough to feel on brand for the upcoming game and for Kojima Productions, the developing studio behind the title.

It seems that in addition to skipping E3 this year, Sony is having some fun revealing more about its exclusive titles on its own schedule.

In a tweet shared earlier by Hideo Kojima, a similar video appeared with the tagline “Tomorrow is in your hands.” He shared another video in the same style which said “Help us reconnect” on Monday.

Somewhat interested, I generally enjoy Kojima's games quite a bit, but... MGSV is probably my least favorite thing he's done despite the issues he had with Konami at the time, I still haven't even got around to finishing MGSV on PC. (Now that I think about it, I'll do that this weekend) What's been shown of Death Stranding looks really interesting on a story level, but I'm a bit worried and the only gameplay shown so far was crawling around in an empty open-world. Not a good sign. Hopefully, Kojima shows something more ground gameplay this time around. I gotta say, Norman Reedus must like this role he's doing then the TWD.

I don't pre-order unless it's a game I fully know I'll enjoy to the fullest from start to finish and this isn't one of them!

Kojima loves to delay his games too much.

So I think if I buy a PS4 I rather to get Days Gone and Spiderman than this.(Since I can watch this game on youtube)

Also this game is going to be more of an exploration type open world game which for me Shenmue 3 has this covered.

I rather do something else and after that see the full trailer than see parts of it till it gets complete.

The more people that watch it, the more hands appear.

It seems to be mostly gameplay. Open world. Third person. Motorcycles and cars. You can have an A.I. team working with you. You will mostly be on your own. You can place ladders and use ropes to traverse the environment. Most commonly featured weapon is a stick with a glow-y tip. (He's taking the ropes and sticks thing quite literally.)

Shit not releasing this year

The game definitely does not look cross-gen. Though the animal tech looks cool. I think it will be released before the end of next year.

I guess it’s safe to say that all the lemmings who swore that this game will not be released this gen are once again wrong.

Well this came out of nowhere. Was expecting a 2020 release. Hopefully TLOU 2 gets a release window at the next state of play. Gotta have something big before E3.

It kinda looks like it's about parallel universes(One is a real life where war is going on . the other is the world of the dead.) with main characters can travel both sides.

Those yellow suit guys kinda look like are going to be this game's cops(similar role to cops role in GTA games) that try to get in your way.

Looks interesting. I'm in to see this cinematic madness.

I still don't know what the crap is going on... but I'm on board anyway. What the hell.

Awesome trailer, loved it. Game looks fantastic and I’m really digging the theme of this game. Looks like it’ll have a very compelling and typical Hideo storyline of which I’m totally on board for.

Well shit, hopefully the game is actual complete and runs smoothly if it is released in November.

the previous trailers were cool. this gameplay trailer is so damn boring. it feel like a walking sim.

Did nothing for me, at least with MGS you had an idea how it will play and for Phantom Pain you have already played Ground Zeros. Even the cinematics/theme/music I personally found to be inferior to MGS V.

After watching how it plays! Actually, I think I play tested it before buying it.

It did nothing to spark my interest. I'm hoping it's because the gameplay is so good they don't bother showing much more then walking. I'll have to wait until release.

Quite the contrary, it's going to be a GOTY contender.

Kojima doesn't do flops and this game has GOTY contender written all over it just from the trailer alone.

They are so predictable. You'd think by now they would start realizing that they've been wrong with all their predictions since 2013.

Basically if I bet money any time lems made a prediction that was totally off since 2013 I'd be a very rich man, it's safe to bet against their every word now lol.

There was some shooting in there. I think there will be a lot of old battlefields and old wars in the game due to its time traveling story.

I expect to shoot a lot of fools in the game outside of sneaking just like MGS.

Kojima has done a flop known as MGS 4.

1. A game which the engine was such a mess that after that release of that game they couldn't use anything(Engine,mechanics,assets) of it for a follow up or even porting the game to other consoles. The only follow up they made for MGS 4 was a PSP sequel known as MGS Peace Walker.

2.MGS 4 is obviously a failure which is why after that game Kojima changed Metal Gear Solid's gameplay from the cinematic focus to gameplay focus.

3.MGS 4 also received lots of expensive MGO 2's expansions(Even a secondary profile needed to be bought) to cover some money that they lost for that game.

Outside of MGS, I don't think his other projects were that successful.(Which is why majority of them never got any sequel)

So far Death Stranding is quite a risky project that has a chance of failure.

1.Lots of famous actors in it.

2.It's going to have lots of cutscenes while being an open world.

3.The whole marketing for it is also crazy.(and they even began merchandising it long before it's release. a game which no one still cares about any of the characters to buy action figures.)

If it wasn't a flop then their next MGS game wouldn't have been in a different direction.(And also in a completely different engine)

You may not see it, but MGS 4's poor engine is the main reason they were forced to spend so much money on the next game which this is one of the main reasons that Konami fired Kojima.

Also as I was said, after MGS 4 they decided to change the direction of the franchise.(You may see it as successful but in the eyes of Kojima Production it was a failure)

along this that these sites gave it 10/10 because watching stupid cutscenes requires much less skill than playing a game.(Even playing COD requires more skill than watching stupid cutscenes of MGS games.)

94 MC, 10/10 on IGN and Gamespot, and selling millions of copies isn't a flop on any Universe. Any game would be lucky to receive the critical acclaim and sales MGS4 got.

I hope the game doesn't become too scary for me. I'm a Kojima fan so this was always going to be a purchase for me. I'm happy that this trailer shows some MGS qualities coming back. (Characters, story that has a couple things to say.)
