Capcom stated that they will produce their titles for more systems to have more profit. Latest example is Devil May Cry 4 heading to the X360 and PC. Sony fans are, as we know, furious about this and thought this would also mean Dead Rising and Lost Planet would go multiplat. However, Capcom today said both those titles will remain exclusive to the X360. As an example of which titles would go multiplat they gave Resident Evil 5. However, most of you already know that was going to both platforms.

Link.

Yea, I saw this yesterday. There's no point for them to even bother porting either when both have sold 1+ million copies on the 360. As for the sequels, who knows. Both could remain exclusive and vice versa.

I think Dead Rising is the second best selling game on the X360 if I remember correctly.

most are acting up because they are worried the game will get downgraded for the 360 and pc even when capcom clearly stated that it wont.

And thats the kind of ridiculous attitude thats going to have developers abandon the PS3 altogether. The cows are just as arrogant as Sony themselves.

Hahaha. As soon as Resi 5 and DMC 4 come out, those people who signed the pertition will go and freakin' buy those games. What about Street Fighters etc etc, it's ridiculous to think they will not buy those games...

That's what kills me...I mean why not buy the games? If you don't buy the games well then you're just making it an easier decision for Capcom to say "Wow...the Sony community isn't buying our games anymore...guess we'll move elsewhere" and sooner or later Capcom doesn't even make a product for Sony period. It's pathetic...it's like lil kids that won't play with a toy unless they're the only one that has it. Anyone who signed that petition is nothing more than a lil brat that needs to grow up. But it does give me something to laugh at so go on and keep signing away

We also learn that Treasure Island Z happens to be Inafune's project. Inafune being the creator of the recent titles Dead Rising and Lost Planet.

So if you liked DR and LP the next game Infune doing looks like a Wii only game......

 lol at this whole mess.  Sony has said that they don't pay to lock-in 3rd party exclusives.  Microsoft does (maybe not paying Capcom directly, but through co-paying for advertising, waiving the console fees, etc.).  This has obviously happened with Dead Rising and Lost Planet, given the Capcom Exec's statement about being bound by a NDA (non-disclosure agreement).

I find it funny that this Capcom Exec is even wasting his time trying to explain the business of games to these morons.  Capcom doesn't "owe" anything to anyone - they are a business, free to make their own business decisions as they see fit.  If they choose to make a game for 1 system, 2 systems, or go off and make their own system and games for that - they can do whatever they want and don't have to justify it to anyone.

Sony's decision/policy to not pay for 3rd party exclusives is coming back to bite them in the butt.  at Ken, Phil, Jack, and Kaz

Agreed. Further, Dead Rising would be a good game for the PS3, but they miss nothing with Lost Planet, it left me (forgive the pun) cold.

All Capcom said was that Lost Planet and Dead Rising would remain exclusive to XBOX. That doesn't mean the sequels they will  most likely spawn will stay exclusive.

Thats true. But if its on the PS3 I don't see how it is going to compete with the 360 version simply because of the achievements. The achievements in dead rising were close to half of the beauty of the game.

I feel a bit sorry for cows, it sucks losing games, but I understand where capacom is coming from when it comes to DR, and LP.

First off no matter how you look at it niether of these games are going to sell as well on the ps3 as they did on the 360, and they are actually going to sell a bit worse because they've already been released and are basically ports (which historically never sell well).

Now if you're capcom you've done the research to find out about how much you can make porting these titles and we'll call that estimated profit X.  Now MS comes along and offers an exclusive contract and offers an amount of money called Y.  Now X is normally greater than Y.  Still capcom is smart and they'll take Y, why?  Because X is a higher risk and not only that but it will also take up more internal resources than Y.  So by taking Y capcom can freely work on other projects that could make them more money than LP and DR.
