Cyberpunk 2077 being heavily discounted already - what's your price to play this game?

CDKeys is selling the PC version for $34. Yesterday, Amazon and Best Buy were selling the console versions for $30! Best Buy was including a steelbook too. Today they are offering it for $35. Keep in mind PS4/X1 versions are eligible for a free next gen upgrade. I imagine the price will continue to go down even further. The game has only been out for a little over a month which is pretty startling. Nintendo games keep their price for years 😀 Well anyway..

What say you, SW? What is your price to play this game? If I ever decide to play this game, I think I'll wait for the GOTY patched up version for cheap lol. But right now I'm on the fence for just getting it at all.

I wouldn't play it even if it was free at the moment, especially on consoles.

Will let others beta test it for now and will pick it up at a later date if it ever get close to the games CDPR lied to us all about.

I paid full price for it and don't regret it. Though I am sure some of you read that and thought "methinx he protests too much" haha. The game has its issues, and many of them, but there's a lot of fun to be had in it.

I guess years spent playing Piranha Bytes games like Risen and Elex and earlier Gothic titles has given me a "diamond in the rough" outlook on games that aren't so polished.

However it was part of the "CDPR" pack so I got CP2077 and all the Witcher games. Including the criminally overlooked and amazing Thronebreaker, so I felt like it was a good deal.

Since I like the game I don’t mind having paid full price and fully support CD Projekt Red.

Around $10 like how I got Witcher 3 GOTY.

I bought it at $30. It'll stay in the shrink wrap until the next gen update.

I'll get the finished game for 15-20€.

I was going to way for a GOTY edition, but with all the work planned on the bug fixing and console versions, I doubt we'll see a proper season pass anytime soon.

Well, it is a little shit. Especially when it is apparent that all decision making etc all end up in the same linear outcome, that in itself is a travesty.

I'd just wait, TBH. By mid summer when the next gen patches are out you should be able to get it for $30 anyway... why buy it now to keep in shrink wrap?

Not going to bother getting it no matter what the price is until the actual next gen versions get released. I’ll just wait and see how the game turns out then and if I like what I see and hear then I’ll get the Xbox Series X version.

Oh must have missed the latest news thanks. Apparently its originally supposed to be in Q1 2021 and is a full "standalone" game as in its pretty substantial. Yeah I doubt it will even be released in 2022, good luck to devs probably having to crunch to meet that deadline.

£19.99 and I'd pick it up surely will get some entertainment for that price.

Crunch is what killed this game.

It's the same dev team as with The Witcher 3, yet it has none of the same magic.

Yeah, so far about a 7/10 for me.

My gaming time is minimal at the moment. I don't have time for games I won't enjoy.

Well worth it... The characters are all sorta glossed over and the main story is more like a montage than a real narrative. But still my 2020 GOTY. Night City and player build development are both pretty solid here and there are a ton of loot/ plans to find in this game.

Paying 34 dollars on a shifty 3rd party site is not a discount...

i returned my copy so based on that, it's not worth much.

experiencing it on the ps4 was the gaming equivalent of one of those gordon ramsey kitchen nightmares "you had the nerve to serve me this shit!" reactions when he steps into the walk in fridge and finds some nasty, mouldy, contaminated food they cooked for him earlier. equal parts frustrating, bewildering and disappointing.

the ps4 pro wasn't much better, certainly not worth paying full price.

but cdpr will right their wrongs, the question is when. i'd guess in ~12 month's time you'll probably have a polished, accomplished rpg more in line with what was promised and more deserving of full price or thereabouts

The Witcher 3 launched extremely buggy, and really had far worse quest breaking bugs than CP2077

More than likely end up playing Underrail or Shadowrun: Hong Kong before giving this a wack.

Was never big on CDPR. I mean, if you were to list like, a top 5 overrated studios they'd be there, for sure.

More respect them for their GOG stuff. Even if they did dampen that with their recent yum yum China bucks.

I paid $60 just a few days before launch to have it pre-installed. It was so bad I wasn't even angry but I thought I would keep it to see how awful it was and see when they make updates what changes. There is some good stuff there but beyond performance and glitches this game needs a start from scratch overhaul because they can fix the bugs but the game will still suck.

By the time this game is decently fixed (will never be fully fixed because of the design decisions) the game will cost $9.99. I'll get it then.

I'm still most probably going to buy it but not before 2022 at the least. But if the game is still in a similar state than it is now then I might not buy it at all.

Around 20 bucks. But I am not buying it until it has been thoroughly patched and I have bought a next-gen console.

I beat it for free... actually I made $6 worth of rewards points out of it.

The price isn't the issue. I can't stand broken unfinished games. I am not buying it until it is in an acceptable release state.

When it hits around $10-14, that's the same price I picked up the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt edition.

Yeah, not about the cost. Just pick it up whenever it's "complete".

Not expecting it to be my kind of game either, but some aspects look cool. Probably just screw around in the world a few hrs and call it done.

@ConanTheStoner: unfortunately, unless they make big changes, the first few hours are not the strongest. It's one of those "opens up" and "story gains momentum" as you play type affairs
