[QUOTE="Huxley_00"]what's missing from making it CGI then?PSBox3SixWiSLI 8800GTX's english please..
it is incredible yes! As good as CGI no as good as older GCI sure but realtime will not catch up to prerendered in the next 20 years if at all. How could it?Tasman_basicthat's why u can't even tell why crysis isn't cgi quality.. all you can say is no it doesn't look it.. wow ur smart..
CGI is rendered frame by frame with 100% accuracy on computer farms. 3D Gpus still aren't accurate enough and they are rendered in real time. It will be another 10 years before we reach the CGI of now and, by then movie CGI will improve also. Phsyics and animation also need to improve drastically before it fools the eyes also.rexoverbeyI never said crysis looks like the best CGI quality!

First up our little friend is saying 2 big video cards is whats missing from making it CGI. I'm not sure what he thinks they are running it on but oh well. Now then your sarcasum is not apreciated. You can say what makes it not look as good a CGI even on a very top tech over clocked rig. The lighting is not as convincing closer up the textures are obviously lower in res' and the particl and special effects are less affective. The meshes on the models are lower poly and the mapping is less "vibrant". Now most if not all of this is only noticalbe when you stop and look but on one level or another you can realy tell it's just not as good. Like the diferance between GRAW and GRAW 2 on the 360. There are several lighting techniques in 2 that are not there in one at first you just don't see them at all but then you go back and you can't see what it is but you know something is missing.
[QUOTE="Oemenia"]UNREAL 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CryEngine 2HewkiiI personally have yet to see that.
U3 is getting owned this time and quake too. If nobody said anything the vast majority of people would swear on a stack of bibles crysis was cgi.
UNREAL 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CryEngine 2Oemeniayou've gotta be kitting. Cryengine is atleast 2x more advanced that UE3.
I imagine by CGI quality you mean modern day movie CGI? Considering CGI means computer generated graphics, zelda tp is also cgi quality.
But no this game does not even come close to modern day movie CGI. Movie CGI is so good that you cannot tell it is in a movie next to live action.
Look at the CGI in the new starwars movies, or the new spiderman movie coming out. Or some of the CGI in the movie fantastic 4.
When i see this game right away I can tell it is a game, so it is not close to movie cgi.
Yes they will:no it doesnt...
the game wont be like those shots when your playing it.

This is Pre-Alpha, and at this time, Crysis is STILL in Pre-Alpha. Don't believe the other sites telling you it's in Alpha, because that's not true.

I dont know what stage the game is currently in, but in an interview few months ago (start of this year) they said the game was moving towards the alpha stage but we had seen gameplay videos of it well before then.

With all those effects like motion blur, depth of field, and cinematic explosions, it does come pretty freakin' close.16bitkevinyes i think it's the effects more than anything that make it look close. when the objects are clear and still it's clearly not cgi.
