Full playthrough of three of the tracks. The player needs a little practice though.

Game is looking amazing. Can’t wait to play this online in June.

Eh tbh, its just a Mario kart clone. Never really got into crash racing probably never will. There's to many arcade racers and crash isn't one of the best.

It's a 30FPS racing game in 2019. Nobody should care.

@jcrame10:

I care, I like the original CTR, but I think that it would be a good move to remaster it in a bundle with Crash Bash as the second title is not available within PSN. I am not that excited about standalone version as I can always run the old version.

EDIT: and the player is terrible, it's painful to watch. Especially that he's playing on one of the best maps, he doesnt even know the shortcut :D

Meh. I’ll stick with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for my karting fix.

Was it though? I think a lot more people would say they preferred Mario Kart.

How drifting was is MK 64 and that came out before Crash racing?

@npiet1: nope, no drifting or power sliding in Mario Kart 64. That didn’t come until Double Dash.

Crash Team Racing was great and this remake is one of my most anticipated games of the year, but it was not better than Mario Kart 64.

Mario Kart 64's legendary battle mode alone puts it above any other kart game ever made in my book. And Mario Kart may have took the power sliding from CTR, but CTR took a whole lot more from Mario Kart and would not even exist if it wasn't for Mario Kart.

It not too much time to be reading the forum for days.

Not too much time for game. Just quick post here still yet to buy The Crash 4K Trilogy. It on switch too but the PlayStation 4 have fur on Crash and crisper graphic. Seem more worth it as a PlayStation game.

So the same thing will be with this game. Looking very pretty good but “similar”? It look like many other game. Not so bad it look like same technique in graphic being apply.

This was just okay game on PlayStation. I just buy someone pair of shoe as gift. Michael Jordan with shiny leather. So this game will take some time before it is acquired.

Mario Kart 64 > Crash Team Racing > Diddy Kong Racing

Crash beats Mario on...handling, controls, and graphics. The game was way more fun compared to the slippery karts of MK64.

It also started the power sliding like I already said

Even though MK64 was 2 years old, it still looks terrible compared to CTR....the characters just look like blurry sprites

that picture is not from Mario Kart 64. That vehicle was definitely not in the game and those graphics look too nice for MK64.

Not a horrible game. I played it on my OG Xbox and Ngage and I liked it. Didn’t love it, but it was passably fun.

I might pick it up during a discount. But I’m not holding my breath. My Xbox One backlog is becoming unmanageable.

Post proof still doesn't believe it,

What about this? https://www.instructables.com/id/Mario-Kart-64-Turbo-Drifting/

If you still don't believe it, your just lying to yourself because your upset no one cares about a remaster for a subpar arcade racer.

@npiet1: he obviously never played Mario kart 64, you cant win against good players if you dont know how to drift and pick up boost.

Mario kart 64 is the ultimate staple of kart racers

I actually own Mario Kart 64 as long as I've owned CTR. It is not the same thing. The powersliding/powerboosting mechanic was not used in Mario Kart until later games in the sense of how it was used in CTR.

@jcrame10: Mario kart sliding hasn't changed since mk64. It's still the same to this day even on switch. the mechanics is different on crash but it still doesn't change the fact it's never changed on mk.

Also you first said it never had it, now you're saying its different? which is it? So MK never did steal the mechanic from crash.

It still doesn't. So no, MK was the first for drift boost mechanic.

No nostalgia for these games unfortunately, so it comes purely down to how good it is in todays light.

So, just my two cents, but I prefer CTR over Mario Kart 64. I like the various hubs that interconnect to make a playable world, it's more strategic and challenging, the stages themselves have a lot of variety, and the weapon selection is just as easy to learn as Mario Kart 64's - something most kart racers don't accomplish.

Double Dash was okay. It had good levels, but I never got into it's 2 character gimmick.

It actually wasn't until Mario Kart 8 when I felt the series was golden again. Everything just came together right in 8.

Then you have the likes of Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing/Transformed. Those were very fun, but the weapon system is lacking compared to CTR and Mario Kart.

@Zuon: " It actually wasn't until Mario Kart 8 when I felt the series was golden again."

The SNES version is the only golden one.

CTR and Diddy Kong Racing were better than Mario Kart 64.

I'm just not very interested. Especially since it was Mario Kart and not CTR that came up with power sliding.

"CTR came up with it!"

No it didn't, here's proof.

"It's not the same!"

Lol
