Crash Bandicoot will sell more PS4s than any other game

Move over, Uncharted. Crash is back and is taking the world by storm.

The internet storm, at least.

And no, not these lonely boards you nerds, the mainstream internet world of Facebook and Twitter. I've never seen so many people who are casuals (or i never thought played games, ever) posting, sharing, retweeting, and commenting about Crash coming back. This sort of social media unity I am seeing is like nothing I've ever seen.

What about you guys? Has Crash infected your social media platforms? Do you think Crash is going to make a huge splash in 2017 when it comes to PS4 sales?

Personally, I think Crash will be a great way to get old time gamers who haven't picked up a console all gen and casuals who have never played anything other than Wii Bowling alike (which is funny, because why didn't they play the originals? Oh well....maybe they played half of that first level in 1996 and are somewhat feeling nostalgic).

But I've never seen hype for a game on my mainstream social media platforms, outside of people I know who game and pages i follow that are game related.

Could it be flavor of the week? Maybe. We will see if the excitement is still there when release day comes and this demographic chooses to pull out their wallets or not.

Well Bloodborne is done, Uncharted it done. I think GT Sport will move a ton of PS4 and PS Pro consoles over the next couple of years.

Well Bloodborne is done, Uncharted it done. I think GT Sport will move a ton of PS4 and PS Pro consoles over the next couple of years.

i keep forgetting GT is a thing. I wont get it for along while as FH3 will keep me busy for a racing game for now. but yeah I could see GT Sport moving a lot of units too. They usually sell close to 10 million copies a game or something.

Uncharted and Bloodborne both moved consoles and yeah theyre done now, but its a question of whether or not other games will top what they did.

I've always enjoyed Crash, had a lot of fun playing Crash Team Racing! As far as what I've seen on social media, I've seen a few friends post excitement for this game, but the biggest game I've seen lately that's caused a lot of excitement was Red Dead Redemption 2, now it's a toss-up between my friends posting about the new Marvel vs Capcom or The Last of Us 2

I have a feeling Crash is going to tap into a market that those titles Cant. I would bet a large majority of those posting about Marvel vs Capcom, TLOU2 or Red Dead 2 are already big gamers who own gen 8 consoles/PC gaming rig.

No. But Nioh might. That's going to be on GOTY lists next year. The last beta was very good. That game will be better received by gamers than Last Guardian or Persona 5.

However, people may find the epic eyebrows compelling!

Still waiting on another awesome 3d platformer like R&C... Wish ND would step up to the task.....

Sly Cooper could easily get announced as the movie gets closer to release...

They need to drop this and give us Jax and Daxter, nobody cares for Crash, hes a silly character with no brain. Game couldnt even break 500k on DS's 150 million install base.

If you say so. Platforming is making a bit of a comeback but most kids today dont even know the character.

I doubt it will be something special. I played the first one back in the day on the PSOne. I doubt I would play it again.

I bet most people on your facebook played the original as their first game or something like that so it had a special place in their heart but Crash, no one knows him ... Sony doesn't have any mascot.

But maybe I'm wrong and platforming make a coming back. I remember playing Super Mario 3D World on the WiiU after not playing any Nintendo game for almost 10 years put a smile on my face but in the end it was too easy.

Crash Bandicoot was behind the times then...

Crash Bandicoot is way more popular than Jak and Daxter. The best selling Jak game of all time only sold about half of what the worst selling game in the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy sold. And Jak and Daxter was on a console that sold over 50 million more units than the console that Crash Bandicoot was on and yet it still couldn't even get half of Crash Bandicoot's sales.

The Crash Bandicoot franchise definitely seems to have it's critics, but I'm also seeing a lot of excitement and love from other people for Crash's return. I'm expecting big sales for Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy and I definitely think it can be a system seller to a market that other PS4 exclusives can't tap into. It's my most anticipated PS4 game right now.

Nostalgia does sell and for once, this remaster is an actual remaster, graphics aren't just upresed to 1080p. i wish they remastered that crash racing game, its by far the one i played the most.

I think GT Sport will move more PS4s but I'm definitely excited to play Crash again and I know a lot of people that are as well.

It's cool hipster shit now that matters. Crash's got that all over it. Retro, childhood memories. You get it. I loved that game but casuals just want to be cool.

It's one of those things I'm glad exists. I Really liked Crash 2 and 3. Wouldn't mind Crash Team Racing recieving the same treatment.

It's $40. They're basically full remakes too, made from the ground up but using the level layouts of the originals.

The problem is that people see this s more then it is. Looks excactly the same only a bit cleaned up with different textures (YES that's what it's supposed to be) but the fanboys claim it looks a f mazing and that it's more then that. I must say I'm hyped for this too but not as much as others.

TBH we need more of these kind of games, it IS Sony's fault that we are here right now with all these cinematic shit b-movie games. Everyone tried to follow and that lead us to alot of AAA movie like games that are great for one playtrough. But it's good that they are trying to fix things now. A step in the right direction

As someone who has played CB games when I was a kid, I think this is completely untrue. It will sell decent but nothing crazy

I have not met one person who said they are ecstatic about it.

I'm not sure if TC is serious. Not a single person in my Facebook feed posted anything about Crash Bandicoot and I'm pretty sure most don't even know him. He's nowhere as popular as say the Final Fantasy series which got two entries in the past months

Or you could blame Epic Games for influencing Naughty Dog with Gears? Depends on how you look at it.
