Crash Bandicoot 4 for Switch appears to have complete re-workings of visuals, rather than complete downgrades.

Guess waiting to announce it is paying off (also I believe they did similar with Crash N-Sane and Square did the same with DQXI, but I could be way off), because it looks fantastic.

@nintendoboy16: The only reason I see as to why they are putting it in these platforms aka Switch is because it bombed on both PS4 and Xbox One. It's going to sell best on Switch & plus, Switch has a much bigger install base and going for $40, I might pull the trigger. Crash isn't my fav platform but I did grew up with the character but I still love Spyro.

Agree. I like the Switch version for its cartoony flavor more than the standard PS4/Xbox One. More bright colors is always welcome😊

If Nintendo make a Switch 2 then the people who buy it need to know that the reason they wont be playing big blockbusters from third party devs is because of the terrible hardware that Nintendo will put in it and then they will over charge for it.

Here's my prediction. Switch 2 comes out, and they'll RE-RELEASE what they've already re-released for the Switch but this time around the games will be in 1080p and have sharper visuals than the current abomination. $60 and we'll be hearing "its worth it, guys because i haven't played X game since the Switch came out, guys". What a shit show. Nintendo has fund a loop at milking their fans and its the juiciest/laziest way of making money i have ever seen. On par with Yearly Fifa spam from EA.

Very smart. I appreciate that it costs money to do this, that requires confidence you'll get that return back. But I think it's the right gamble

I really enjoyed this game on PS4. Would consider getting this on Switch at a cheaper price down the road.

@i_p_daily: why are you treating it like a problem? It's a smart move to make games looking good and run fine on weaker hardware. Plus, if they see the investment is worth it, it's because they think it'll pay off. Your mockery makes no sense.

It's still a technical downgrade, but at least with an already cartoon-stylized game like this it makes more sense to do it this way since it comes off as more technically sound.

Why do you think games are made for Switch last unless said game has the graphics of a 5yr olds finger painting.

Switch is an investment of manpower & resources, and besides that im willing to bet that there isn't a single person who posts on this forum who only has a Switch or buys all their multiplats on it.

The Switch is shall we say a side bitch, that people play Nintendo games on, they do their third party gaming elsewhere.

So the investment in the Switch is a risky one.

Simple: Nintendo didn't want to traditionally compete anymore after the GameCube (aka the Star Wars prequels of Nintendo consoles) failed (the last time console hardware of theirs was damn near on par with... well anything). So they opted for weaker hardware and some "gimmick".

And really, if anything, I'm defending Toys for Bob more than I am Nintendo. They found a work around to go along with Nintendo's weaker hardware standards.

They wouldn't make a switch port of the new game if the n sane trilogy had failed on that system, so, yeah, you're still making no sense. Switch users like mascot platforms.

So the game sold over 10 million and the best you can come up with is that it sold well on the Switch, so you have no numbers.

HERE'S a list of the top selling games on the Switch, third party doesn't do too good, no Crash in sight, so it doesn't matter if they've sold 80 million units, if people don't buy it, then userbase means nothing. Also you stated the Switch as the platform to play platformers on, so it has the biggest competition on the Switch.

So yeah third party games on the Switch are a risky investment, its like i said, the Switch is a side bitch for Nintendo games, and most everybody else plays multiplats on other platforms.

nice, i appreciate the extra effort on the port. looks good. been playing crash bandicoot trilogy on switch and i think that game is clean. hope this one is too.

I love the switch and platformers. I bought Spyro trilogy and and crash trilogy on the switch strictly because i find playing platformers in portable the best. Some of the best games to play in handheld imo. Its also why i bought shovel knight, the messenger, hollow knight, CupHead on the switch.

3rd party games sell great on the switch, especially platformers. Just because i can play Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario on the switch does not mean I'm going to prefer buying 3rd party platformers on the playstation, xbox, or PC. Makes no sense. Platformers have always thrived on handhelds...
