Poll Couch/TV or Chair/Monitor - what experience do you enjoy more? (69 votes)

Couch/TV 57%
Chair/Monitor 43%

I personally like couch/TV most of the time except for FPS. FPS is easier on a monitor in my opinion. It makes it easier to spot people and shoot. I also like driving games on my monitor but that's because I have a ultra wide monitor. But I think overall couch is more relaxing and I enjoy watching it on a bigger screen.

How about you, SW? Couch/TV or Chair/Monitor? What experience do you enjoy more?

Depends on the game. I like monitor majority of the time because it's immersive and I feel more engaged. However, I prefer TV for blockbuster games. Playing something like God of War or Spiderman that both focus on spectacle just isn't the same on a monitor (need that big screen).

I generally keep switching positions between sitting forward and laying back with my legs up. I can't really choose between the 2 though.

For a while I was a fan of just playing on the computer but lately I just feel more relaxed playing on the couch on that sweet OLED.

Why would you want to be in an unrelaxed position to do something that is suppose to be relaxing?

Even I play on PC with couch/tv set up.

Chair/Monitor for me as I game on PC and the only thing that Couch/TV is good for is me and my GF like to watch TV together on the weekends.

Well I do both but I have to say I enjoy Chair/Monitor more because I feel more immersed closer to the monitor and yes I know I could move my tv closer or get a bigger one but I don't want to.

Chair/monitor

First of all, I don't 'do the hunch'. I have a large comfy executive chair with cushioned arm rests that reclines just enough that I can comfortably prop my feet up on a foot rest I have crammed into the corner under my desk.

I'm close enough to my monitor that it fills most of my vision, being able to relax my arms and play from my wrists allows precision control, and anything I might need is within arms reach on my desk.

I can play retro games just fine on a TV, like my Mini NES, but those aren't really going for sensory immersion. Playing on my nephews consoles, being across the room from the picture imparts a very real disconnect. I just can't get into it.

Chair/monitor. I prefer bed/TV over couch and TV. Laying down in bed is way more comfy than sitting back in a couch in my opinion. Sitting up in a couch just doesn't get me as engage as sitting in a chair in front of a monitor. Plus in my setup and most other people I knows set up the couch is more than 10 feet away from the TV which makes it even worse.

Table and chair for any games that play better and feel more comfy on a mouse and keyboard, which is most games. Sofa for controller games. But it's not an option with my PC. I'm not carrying it to the living room every time, so I play controller games like Sekiro and DMC5 on a chair.

Always couch. Or laying in bed like am overweight pig for chill games that require little from the user-end.

Just use arm of coffee table for mouse, fine.

I prefer to sit in front of my monitor on my comfy leather chair, its more private and I have no interruptions except when the missis is horny. I only use the TV when I have friends around that want to play or if my daughter wants to watch me play something.

I like both setups. However, as nice as playing on a 4K HDR OLED is, I find myself playing less on the couch these days due to lack of ultrawide and high refresh rate.

Couch/TV

I don't know why but there's this strong anticipation I can get with the tV that's not with the computer... basically.... like this real strong sense that I am going to get something special.

Chair monitor is just like me posting and stuff right now basically I guess... interesting and all that not the same experience per se.

I depends on the game. I would never play PUBG or BF on a couch and TV with or without a controller... And the same goes for racing games like Forza playing on a couch and 55" 4K HDR TV and a controller is the ideal way.

I find myself constantly leaning forward when I'm on a couch while playing games, so it's chair/monitor for me. If I'm watching someone else play a game, a couch is definitely preferred, but I'm not opposed to a comfy chair.

And, I'd be stuck using a controller unless I invested in one of those lapboard things. Controllers suck for pretty much all the games I play except Souls games, so no thanks.
