Meh, Star Ocean series is a hit or a miss, Star Ocean 4 is definitely a miss. Who can forget Lymle? The severe mental trauma victim that people love to hate because she acts/speaks oddly! I'm sorry but even with those PC settings for PS4, it still doesn't help the game in general. SO4 was a cash grab, It was never meant to exists. SO3 Till the end of time was perfectly named. It was to be the end of the game series. They never intended to continue the series after that. But they were desperate for money, so they threw together SO4 and it did poorly and Triace was bought by a mobile games company that gave us SO5.
All the characters I found were just bad, except Elf girl "myuria" with her big boobs and that was only because of her boobs I gave her a pass.
I’d like to see more console games get these kind of settings options myself. There are other reasons why I prefer to game on consoles over PCs and this was never a really big one for me and something like this just benefits more then it hinders anyway.
It's good to have the option to change things like this but it's not the first to do so, PCARS had a huge roster of graphical settings that could be changed to suit your preference.
With how many PC features consoles have adopted over the years; hard drives, online, multiplayer, DLC, game patching, installations, etc... this seemed inevitable. But at the same time superfluous, since settings in PC's are necessary to make games adaptable from a wide range of specs, while consoles have fixed hardware (the essential processor specs, variable HDD storage not being a crucial factor) that they should have a unified setting for a unified platform.
I still wonder when we'll see fully upgradeable features in consoles like memory or GPU's.
putting my console gamer hat on: dont like it at all. the games settings should be set in stone. its a fixed spec. yet more needless bloat and complexity in console gaming.
