Console gaming is dead: PUBG is coming to Mobile!

Last week, it was revealed that Chinese tech giant Tencent had formed a partnership with Bluehole to bring the massively popular shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to China. Now, however, we've learned through a translation of the company's official announcement that Tencent intends to also help Bluehole leverage the booming mobile games market with a mobile version of PUBG.

The survival shooter has already surpassed 21 million copies sold and it makes perfect sense for Tencent to work with Bluehole on making a mobile edition for the largest mobile games market in the world. According to IHSMarkit, the Chinese mobile games market now stands at $25.6 billion, accounting for 25% of the entire worldwide mobile market. The firm predicts that China's mobile market will eclipse $29 billion this year.

The translation of the announcement says that work is going smoothly and more details on the mobile PUBG edition will be coming soon.

PUBG is timely exclusive but MS paid more money to keep it that way from not coming to PS4 anytime soon. Gamers are better off building a PC just to play PUBG anyway, if they're that desperate to play it. PUBG on mobile is hardly better if not simi not so exclusive.

there is already a free battle royal game out on mobile right now and its just as good as PUBG to be honest, its called rules of survival. They have other battle royale games out too on mobile but this is the best one so far.

A mobile version of PUBG isn't the death of anything.

Yeah. Gamers don't want finished games anymore, so it's OK to not finish it.

Yeah, it would be better if the devs finish the game first rather than expanding into different platforms.

PUBG isn't that great either. It is fun no doubt, but it has one map with a second one coming soon and the shooting is atrocious compared to other shooters. I hope they change it as I had a super hard time using my controller on my PC with PUGB as the controls felt horrible with a controller. This game can and will get your heart racing as you spent 15-30 minutes trying not to die to make it to the final like 8 and then be in a gun battle and just get sniped.

PC seems to be the homeland of unfinished, early access, beta test games that PC fans dump tons of money into like fully finished AAA games if they even seem to have a spark of quality in them...

Seems xbox players are joining the ranks of the pay to play early access model they also did it with Ark Survival Evolved, but when you don't have much else to look forward to I guess it is OK not to finish it.

Guess Microsoft is paying all that money for them to stay away from PS4 but forgot about the mobile side of the business.

You might be right...the only thing i heard is that Microsoft is hoping to extend PUBG exclusivity till mid 2018 and will publish PUBG....and even that deal is unclear.

Then again by 2018 there will probably be hundreds of game that will copy PUBG's formula.
