Amazing news! Definitely the best decision capcom ever done parting ways from nintendo for their newest gen MH games. With iceborne coming soon there will be definitely huge uptake in sales. I am glad this series is finally not niche in west anymore.

Cool. Content wise it's bare bones compared to the 3DS games though. Hopefully Iceborne will fix that.

of course. The 3ds games that we received here in west was the ultimate editions of each gen. Make sense it has boatloads of monsters and G rank.

Iceborne seems like it will fix many things, I mean subspecies is coming back, new master rank, zinogre and pals are back, disgusting khezu probably back. Hopefully not just ice areas, I hope we get other maps as well. If they can expand the roster to around total 65-70 monster its gonna be around MH3u amount.

Yes, very true. Got about 400 hours in MH3U, same amount in MH4U. In MHW I've only got about 150, so it's insane how much difference an Ultimate update makes.

Oh man, you're making me hyped for Iceborn. :P I personally really miss Nerscylla. That monster would look amazeballs in MHW graphics. I don't have high hopes for that happening though..

People on this board say 10 million are bad sales on PS4 for a 96M user base.

MHW is multiplat between Xbox 1 , PS4 and PC so what's the user base for Monster Hunter Word?

Or is the user base argument only something that's brought up when trying to rationalize PS4 exclusive sales?

@pc_rocks: Technically this isn't the first PC release but first worldwide PC release as there was two previous monster hunter games on PC but they were exclusive to Japan and China (Monster Hunter Frontier/G and Monster Hunter Online). But yeah still pretty big deal for PC.

Great to see the game doing so well. I got the Xbox One version and I absolutely love the game. I’m definitely very hyped for Iceborne coming out in September.

The game is quite good. I'm glad it's doing so well. I have 121 hours in the PC version so far, and am eagerly anticipating Iceborn.

No way! Every fan of the 3ds series was thrilled to see MH go global finally. Sheep got an excellent exclusive of their own.... MHGU is a fantastic exclusive with tons of depth, most monsters in series, and an insane amount of viable builds.

MHW is my first game in the series and its been a mostly great experience apart from how some of the MP stuff is handled (like, not being able to do a mission with friends until you've both seen a cutscene. that shit is so dumb).

put about 70-80 hours into it so far and feel like there is quite a bit more to do and see.

By splitting the userbase, Capcom have shot themselves in the foot. I happen to be an expert in Japanese culture and honor and shame are a big part of it.

@Oemenia: capcom does have 2 MH teams though. I do doubt capcom want to create a specific monster hunter for switch I mean why create a specific switch game when you have success like MHW.

Eating crow over this? Weird concept. Any real gamer should be thrilled to see this series do so well. This is good news for everyone no other way to look at it.
