This article writer is an xbox guy. He has had an xb1 since 2013. Says he's gonna get an X-Series X day one and a PS5 later on.
So he has an iPhone XS Max ($700 phone) and probably a ton of App Store purchases on iOS. All that aside he has just had enough of Apples policies towards xCloud.
He's gotta be able to stream laggy xCloud games in 720p to his 7-inch screen phone with a giant xb1 controller in his pocket for on the go gaming.
The reality is the average Apple user doesn't care about xCloud. Apple users probably don't even know what it is.
Apple has taken down Fortnite (the biggest game ever) from their store and the user base still doesn't care.
Apple people aren't switching over to Android and Fortnite is the most popular game in the world right now. Thats how die hard people are for Apple. Nobody is going to switch over for xCloud especially if they have a 700 dollar iphone already.
I bet you this guy is just making crap up anyway. At the end of the article he ask's readers if he should switch over. While saying he actually already has work phone with android and the he could just use that. So I don't even get the point of him wanting switch if he has both right now. This is written like a xCloud puff piece by Microsoft.
We've seen IGN xbox guys like Ryan McCaffrey say they will never switch off iPhone just to use xcloud and then this guy from CNET comes along says he "might" switch over but he has both.
Dude just do it if you want to do it. Don't write this puff piece begging Apple to put xCloud on the iPhone it just comes across as super desperate.
