https://www.cnet.com/news/xbox-game-pass-might-be-what-finally-lures-me-iphone-android/

This article writer is an xbox guy. He has had an xb1 since 2013. Says he's gonna get an X-Series X day one and a PS5 later on.

So he has an iPhone XS Max ($700 phone) and probably a ton of App Store purchases on iOS. All that aside he has just had enough of Apples policies towards xCloud.

He's gotta be able to stream laggy xCloud games in 720p to his 7-inch screen phone with a giant xb1 controller in his pocket for on the go gaming.

The reality is the average Apple user doesn't care about xCloud. Apple users probably don't even know what it is.

Apple has taken down Fortnite (the biggest game ever) from their store and the user base still doesn't care.

Apple people aren't switching over to Android and Fortnite is the most popular game in the world right now. Thats how die hard people are for Apple. Nobody is going to switch over for xCloud especially if they have a 700 dollar iphone already.

I bet you this guy is just making crap up anyway. At the end of the article he ask's readers if he should switch over. While saying he actually already has work phone with android and the he could just use that. So I don't even get the point of him wanting switch if he has both right now. This is written like a xCloud puff piece by Microsoft.

We've seen IGN xbox guys like Ryan McCaffrey say they will never switch off iPhone just to use xcloud and then this guy from CNET comes along says he "might" switch over but he has both.

Dude just do it if you want to do it. Don't write this puff piece begging Apple to put xCloud on the iPhone it just comes across as super desperate.

I wonder how much MS paid him for that shill article. No one buys phones to play games. That's something you do for 10 minutes in a waiting room.

True; but people play games on their phones. Especially kids. Not because they were bought for games, but because that's what they have.

Where did all of this "xbox guy" come from? Is there like a meme I'm not aware of?

The Op claims to be an "Xbox guy" but when asked for his gamertag to prove such a claim, he completely ignores peoples posts. Yet he readily gave up his PS id without anyone asking lol.

So the OP started it, but he won't (can't) finish it.

Love my new IPhone SE, but I don’t use it for gaming so I don’t care.

@i_p_daily: ah ok. I've been seeing people around calling themselves an "xbox guy". I just thought it was an online term that real xbox fans started calling themselves. Tbh it sounds kinda dumb.

And you writing yet another xbox piece, this time about a "puff piece" makes you appear even more desperate.

What a bullshit article. Just the typical Microsoft paid shill piece with fake comments attached to it from bots and astroturfers. Nobody wants xCloud like that. LOL!

You already pointed out the fundamental issue with xCloud for phones, which is the inclusion of a controller. Mobile gaming is about ease of use and once you make it a multi-device exercise, you lose 99% of players. It’s not easy enough for the less ardent and insufficient for the hardcore.

Fake. Most Apple people are slaves to that ecosystem and will not leave despite Apple's terrible policies.

Yeah, I agree with this.

I bought a PowerA controller a few years back and, I just can't get around the idea of having to carry around extra hardware for my phone; the only time I ever use it is oddly when I'm home. Also, the only reason I at all travel with my Switch is to play split screen games; pretty sure that won't easily work with xCloud considering the requirements and games that are available.

Wait, xCloud supports touch controls? I thought a controller is required. If that's the case then MS have a really high chance of success with xCloud on phones/tablets.
