Closest thing to Pokemon on PS4 we'll ever see.

I know what you are probably thinking. Weeabo crap. I get it. But if you are at all a fan or Pokemon RPGs or turn based RPGs, I think this game is worth looking into.

I didn't give a crap about at first. Have not watched Digimon in years. But the combat system is almost exactly like a Pokemon game. It's like a fusion of Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 mixed with Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD, IMO.

Overworld.....Has potential. Story..........?????

I just wanted to share. Looks uninteresting at first. Game looks MUCH better when you actually see the battles. Has a real Pokemon vibe to it.

Nintendo are F(_)<|<ing idiots, make a pokemon game like this on the Wii U and you're telling me sales will not skyrocket?!?!? Look at how much 3DS sold when Pokemon X and Y released...

a) You can type fucking, lol, you don't get modded for it

b) I agree, but I think 3DS/Wii U era Nintendo was still functioning on the misguided belief that dedicated handhelds would have a future in the market- in that context, giving away the biggest killer app that their dedicated handhelds have would be asinine, particularly given the assault on all sides from smartdevices. Things may yet change for NX, but who knows?

Anyway, I am not too interested in Digimon, so I am not sure I will get this, but it does look cool.

Ah okay, you folks are pretty chilled, I remember 7-8 years ago on GameSpot you'd get modded for just about everything. Yea but the thing is based on what I've seen if you up the graphics significantly for Pokemon games people end up buying it regardless even if it is more or less the same thing since Red and Blue, ie. the jump from FireRed/LeafGreen to Diamond/Pearl and Black/White to X/Y. I do however truly believe handheld gaming has changed significantly with the dominance of smartphones. Nintendo thinks if they make Pokemon games on the Wii U people will stop buying 3DS and their handheld games but even if that was the case (which its not) the money they will earn through WiiU sales will be enough to buy them out of the handheld business...

I think, I'm not sure, but I think I remember watching the first season. Then I remember it getting weird after that, and I got bored with it. I was definitely surprised to hear it still exists myself.

@GhostHawk196: Well, I think they have resigned themselves to the contraction of the handheld market- things may change with the NX. I would love to see what a console Pokemon game looks like.

I watched the show way back when it first came on(1st season) and haven't played any of the games. I will probably check this out though.

Persona, or any SMT game or sub-series. Same basic premise, but not silly child shit. **** Digimon, that shit is for six year old; same for Pokemon.

Saw an interesting video on YouTube though, a retrospective of Pokemon on Digimon and the success of Pokemon to tie-in the game to the TV series and other media, and to bridge it with consistency through all media. Whereas Digimon failure was just the opposite, the tried to tie other media in but failed on lack of consistency and thus failed to be significant competition.

Anyhow, I guess cows must be hard up for JRPGS to try hyping this poo. Or maybe lack of Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider is eating away at them, like that BBW at the end of the bar sitting by herself looks more and more like a catch after a couple pitchers.

Maybe they're holding on until Pokemon GO drops. That is going to bring Pokemon back to its prime, maybe we'll have another 90s era of Pokemon.

Like a spin-off of Pokemon. I don't care for either. My kids used to do nothing, but play pokemon games on their gameboys for hours. Seemed like a big grind in trying to "catch them all". I never saw a real point to it. They loved it though.

Digimon failed to stand against an era commanded handle by Pokémon. The way you know is when you type Digimon, it doesn't have a dictionary entry and appears with the red squiggly line underneath. It was Pokemon for me from '97-'02, [the Anime series] those 5 years were glorious. That's not to say Digimon is bad. I just never got into it as my entire childhood was surrounded with Pokemon.
