Just finished Castlevania 1. Wow, what a challenge! On now through Castlevania 2, my favorite game as a child. I thought it would lame now, but I'm really enjoying it. Simon Belmont is a badass.

Has anyone else got this collection? Where did you start? Are you enjoying it? Recommend it to system wars?

Getting it soon, wish they'd put more effort into it though.

I probably will when it is on discount. I own half the games already. The one in there that was never released in the states is pretty interesting.

@dg1995: so far so good. I'm gonna play each in succession. There is a high pitched beep that happens during the music in C1 that I noticed. Probably patched out soon I'd bet. Other than that it's wonderful. I have no gripes. I wanted Castlevania and I got it. 6 visual settings on each game as well... I just do the stretch view to fill the screen. It's easiest on the eyes.

I specifically did not buy classic consoles because I wanted my classic games on switch alone. I need LESS devices, not more. This is a really great value for 20 bones if you ask me.

I want it, but not sure it's worth it. You stretch the games? Should be illegal. :P

It's on my steam wishlist, but I'll get it at a discount. The main draw is supposed to be Bloodlines since it's never been re-released, but I already have the Genesis cartridge.

Haven’t got it yet but I will definitely get it sometime soon. I really love the franchise and have played most of them before but it’s nice to have them on current systems to play through again.

Picking it up this weekend. I never played the original castlevania, but I hear it is really hard. I'll be playing them in order. Love me some Castlevania.

I might pick it up over the weekend not sure whether the PS4 or Xbox one. I'm interested in the game boy games as I completely missed them back in day.

Also didn't know it had kid dracula the famicom version on there.

I started with Super Castlevania 4 ... and is still my favourite to this day.

SOTN hella overated ... the GBA ones were better.

@kali-b1rd: super Castlevania is probably the most polished of the early game. I absolutely adored it as a kid, can't wait to play through it again. It's been years.

I worked hard to figure out Simon's quest as a kid. It's like an action rpg before they knew how to make one. Still, I'm a big fan.

Gonna go right into Castlevania 3 next.

It's pretty cool from what I've seen so far. I've only had time to play the first Castlevania, and damn what a blast from the past that was....one of the very first games I'd ever played. The port seems intact, even the occasional flickering is still there.

Looks like I still got dem skills as well, beat the Bat on my 1st go, easily. Lots of great titles in this package and I'm glad they included some of the Gameboy stuff which I'd never played before. The bonus art book is nice, lots of cool stuff such as original game covers you can zoom in and examine.

You have the standard graphical filters you can choose from as well, and other stuff usually seen in this kind of collection. I was disappointed in one thing though, I could be wrong but I did not see that feature....leaderboard support, that was a missed opportunity imo, could have had one for each title for score and time(speed runs). Pre-ordered Bloodstained as well, looking forward to finally playing it next month.

I have most of the Castlevania games on their original format. It took me years before I could beat the original on the NES. I played the shit out of Castlevania 2 back when it came out. I figured the game out with no help what so ever. The tornado sequence had me stumped for a week. I figured it out on accident. I've been a fan of the series since 1987. I love the music from Castlevania 2. The only Castlevania game I don't own a Physical copy of is Rondo on Turbografx. I've got it digitally on Wii and PS4.

With the exception of Super Castlevania, these games don't define Castlevania for me, personally.

All of the GBA and DS Castlevanias, as well as SotN and maybe even Rondo of Blood, are what I typically think of when I think of Castlevania.

There will be three camps of Castlevania fans - those who like the old-school games featured in this collection, those who agree with me and like the metroidvania games best typically, and those who only care about SotN.

I broke a few controllers thanks to C1 back in the day. If I wasn't playing the new Sonic racing game and RDR2 I'd buy it today but it has to wait.

On PC it seems like that there is a workaround for it.

Bloodlines is objectively better than Castlevania IV. It is more apparent now than ever.

Change my mind.

4 had better gameplay, it didn't rely so much on the main character beaing about as flexible as an infant. It didn't have bullshit anime scenes. It's variety and level design were leagues apart.

I would say the only dissapointment with 4 was the dracula encounter ... too tame.

I have it on Switch. The emulation is spot on, but the package itself is no frills. They should've included Castlevania Rebirth or maybe some of the DS Castlevanias.

That would've made me buy it without hesitation. Dawn of Sorrow is probably one of my favourite videogames ever. A package containing Super Castlevania 4 and the DS Castlevanias and I'm all set.

This collection contains:

  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II Simon's Quest
  • Castlevania III Dracula's Curse
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Castlevania The Adventure
  • Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge
  • Castlevania Bloodlines
  • Kid Dracula

SCIV and Bloodlines are the only ones I'd like to play from those. So this collection would be pretty useless for me.

From Super Castlevania on, excellent series. They can keep and the NES titles, the only memory I have of that is finally making it to level 4, that game is way too hard.

Simon's quest is effin legit. I STILL love this game. It's questing is a little bunk, but the mansions and secrets... Upgradable whip! Flame whip ftw.

This game gets too much shit. It's fun as hell to play Simon's quest.
