Capcom finds out that making great games based on the IPs they have is, *GASP*, actually good for business. Who knew except for everyone that plays video games?
Our initiatives are to (1) strengthen digital sales, (2) bolster our title lineup through the full-scale execution of our 60-month and 52-week maps and (3) awaken dormant intellectual properties
... ) we will revive dormant intellectual properties for which we have not recently released new titles by increasing the number of our developers.
As far as packaged software, Xbox was way in the rear this year, even behind the Switch, which didn't even get the same AAA content as Xbox and selling over five times less than Playstation. Full game downloads did VERY well, but no platform split was given on those.
However, Capcom is very pleased at the performance of the titles they've released recently. Ohhhh boy! I hope this means some new Dino Crisis, Darkstalkers and Onimusha entries possibly in the oven?
Also to note, they plan on expanding into other media more, which likely means more crappy RE movies are on the way. More remakes are in the pipeline as well.
What Capcom IPs need to make a return?
