Ownership was killed the 1st time you took home a game and had to download a portion of it.... or had to install a day 1 patch... or needed a server to play.

Fight it all you want but physical and digital games are or will be soon... only keys to unlock our games.

And I'm pretty sure I saw users on this forum parading around the fact that service had garnered the largest share of revenue relative to its competition not too long ago

Serious question? Do people remember that digital gaming was primarily a service and that the concept of ownership of media is actually a very new phenomena in human history from the past 50-60 years.

I think you need another break lol. PSNow exists for a reason man, it's lucrative. Now we have Game Pass and Origin Premier... Just wait for Ubi to jump on board, or Activision after they recover from their whole layoff debacle.

Also, not sure if I was referenced in the OP, as I did post the initial thread about Sony admitting the threat of "cloud gaming" to traditional consoles. If so, haha.

As long as they provide a console that supports physical formats for games then I’ll continue to buy their products. As soon as they don’t I’ll look for someone else who does. If no one does then I’ll go with whomever provides a service that appeals to me the most.

It's the direction of the market, and the market is onboard. Personally, i'm not a huge fan of the monthly fees to access products, but i've done pretty well with Origin Premier.
