Probably since its got the first one that being said I don't thing Smash will get a 10 and I don't really think Zelda can ever get a 10 simply because of nostalgia... People can't vote it higher than a game that's till this day considered the greatest. Its the same reason why Half Life 3 is know where to be seen too high of a bar to jump.

That'll be a tall order. I think if anything gets the next 10 it'll be the next Fallout/TES game. I'm predicting 9s for Captain Toad, Smash and Zelda.

Next 10 for sure though is Persona 5.

No way Persona 5 gets a 10. Too much hype for it. No way it exceeds expectations and becomes a transcendent game. But then again TES is always hyped and they always deliver.

MGS4 getting a 10/10 is such a stain on that record. They can't admit "yeah, in order to get an advanced review copy we had to sign a contract with Komani saying we wouldn't dock points on things games typically get scored on, as well as attend a Konami sponsored review re-education camp."

I don't think Smash has a chance at all, but if Zelda delivers on the promises it is making, then I don't see why not.

No way it will. Doubt Zelda or Smash will. Maybe if theres a new Metroid Prime comes out that surpasses the original it could, since the original was almost AAAA(9.7) But I highly doubt it will.

Nintendo IPs say it's more likely than ever.

Could be, Smash is a huge game that they are investing a lot of time and money in to.

Honestly not sure. Smash is definitely a high rating game, but I don't think GS would give it a 10 tbh. Zelda is normally one of those games you would never count out though, especially if what they are planning to do with the next installment is executed well. This game has a while to go until release though so the chances of it not being the next 10 are quite a bit higher.

I've only played MGS 3 and found that game to be an 8 or so at best if we are talking arbitrary scoring. Who knows how V will go though since it seems fleshed out.

I'm hoping they knock it out of the park with Zelda.

How the hell did Grand Theft Auto IV get a 10? That's by far the worst GTA game in the series.

Back on topic, I don't think Smash or Zelda will get 10s. I think they will both get a 9.

Actually, if the Wii U Zelda follows in the foot-steps of A Link Between Worlds by expanding upon the open-endedness of that game, and if it contains brilliant combat and dungeons to boot, I can see it earning a ten here...maybe.

But not Smash Bros. I almost expect Smash Wii U to score the same as Smash 3DS.

Who knows. I'm expecting 9's for Smash, (at least) 9 for Zelda, (if it doesn't flop) and off-topic I bet Phantom Pain will be great as others have mentioned, but I see it getting a 9 as well.

I think 10's will be a bit more common than what they used to be, given that they've got rid of the .5's. So Wii U will probably get a few 10's, but I suspect the other consoles will too.

Iunno. Personally, I don't think Smash or Zelda will get a 10. Smash might have a small chance, but.. very small. I'm thinking if GameSpot thinks it's "the best Smash game ever" it might get a 10, just like THPS3 was the best Tony Hawk game ever.

Considering nobody expected Bayonetta 2 to get a 10, many games have a chance.

But, looking at teh 10 list, i'd say Nintendo games definitelly have a much better shot than everyone else.

Zelda always seems to get 9 by default because it's zelda. So, LoZ Wii U is amazing, chances might be good.

What? PS3 already did that, MGS4 and GTAIV. Can also play Chrono Cross and Tony Hawk 3 on it ;)

Smash ain't getting a 10, Zelda might if Nintendo avoid the mistakes of the Wii Zeldas though.

Umm... the PS2 version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 got a 10 while every other version was in between the 8-9.5 range. Also, I do remember there being ANOTHER 10 on the PSOne. I don't know which game right now, but I remember an old PS1 vs N64 argument in this forum saying that the PSOne got two ten games.

I think Zelda can pull it off, sure there's a lot of nostalgia and OoT is really hard to beat... But look at Wind Waker, it was quite amazing, and in my personal opinion, had Twilight Princess been more challenging it could have been on par with OoT... so if they do it correctly, yes, I believe the new Zelda can get a 10

I really hope so :P I would love for a console to demonstrate that power is not everything. There is a good chance that possible 10's from Ninty would not be games to appeal to me, but I would laugh. So very long and hard.

I think Smash Bros has a good chance because there's no question the game will have a following, and this following is a critical following that craves balance. Since Bayonetta2 recieved a ten, Smash Bros almost has to in order to win GOTY.

I feel the 3DS release took all the wind out of their sails for the Wii U version. Apparently the games are near identical minus the smash run mode.

I think Smash Bros is more likely to get an 8 than a 10. Captain Toad and Xenoblade look like 9s. Zelda looks like a 7 or 8, but we really have seen absolutely nothing from that game.

My friends, anything is possible. Gamespot ratings are a joke though. If you want the best experiences, you need to dive into PC gaming.

I could see a perfect 10 Zelda or Mario game. Possibly Metroid. It just depends if they do it right. If they gave a game like Bayonetta a 10, there could actually be 2 or 3 10's on the Wii-U...and we should see some 10's on other platforms. Or it could just be a case of diverging review standards - and we won't see another 10 this gen. Which would make the Bayo 2 10/10 seem completely random.

That being said, Bayonetta 2 will probably go down as the worst "10" given to a game ever. Worse than GTA IV. Worse than MGS V. The first game was a 6.5/10 to me - so I have strong doubts about the reviews in this case. Polishing a 6.5 game can't possibly yield a 10/10 game.

How is Bayo2's ten random? Lots of review sites gave it a perfect or near perfect score with low scores being in the minority. Clearly gamespot is not alone in thinking BAYO2 is a little slice of gaming heaven, one for the ages, a genre defining gem that has a good chance of standing the test of time.

And to me a TEN signifies just that...a game that will not be soon forgotten.

You're also the minority on thinking the first BAYO sucked, and not liking MGS4 or GTAIV. The latter of which was a god damn masterpiece and the best MGS game to date.

Yeah, Smash is missing that little bit of "new" magic that would give it a 9 let alone a 10. Feels like the same old smash bros game and I think the 3DS release is a hint at how much of the same old same old the Wii U version will be.

Instead of putting all those resources into the 3DS version they should have added more innovation into the Wii U game.

i think it's possible. Everyone love Smash. As long as it's balanced and works well online.

The thread topic is asking us to speculate about the future dumbass. I merely responded with my guess as to future perfect scores.

As far as GTA IV and MGS4, many people consider them over-rated and unworthy of 10/10 considering how few 10's Gamespot gives out. Not just me. I didn't say they "sucked", they are great games. Just that looking back they probably didn't deserve 10/10 at the time of their reviews. Or if they did deserve 10/10, then as the gen went on at least a dozen other games should have also gotten 10/10 on that same scale. Seriously, does it make sense that GTA IV got a 10/10 but GTA V got a 9/10 or Last of Us got an 8/10? It's just looks quite random at this point where a "perfect" score might pop out.
