Can we all agree the New Switch + Switch Lite will win all future NPD's this gen?

Switch Lite $199 - take me here, take me there, take me anywhere, to the sky, and to the moon.

New Switch $299 - with 9 hours of battery life thats some long road trips or camping gaming.

Looking at xb1/ps4 games theres nothing that will help them make any kind of dent in the switch NPD's its over folks nintendo won and is gonna keep winning.

Yeah, no. As much as I love Nintendo, they won't be winning top-slot. But, they're not competing for it from what I've seen.

Would be embarrassing if it didn't, but will say the switch function is likely gone forever for all models going forward. Nintendo will have to rely on their own games again once PS5/Xbox scarlett come out, the gap in power will be gigantic with 3rd party.

Depends, if they're plan to address analog drift is to have customers keep sending their hardware in for repair and not addressing manufacturing defects then I can see that slowing down their sales. And it would probably upset Switch mini users more since they'd have to send the whole thing in since it's all one unit. And curious if there's a bunch of new Switch mini units ready to hit the market that have this defect, would really suck for those people.

Technically the switch is a next gen system. Strange to think the Wii u was the competition for PS4 Xbox one.

The lite will do incredibly well with that £199 price point. Especially with Pokemon out around the same time.

I was thinking about picking up 3 for the kids of the lite but the Nintendo tax is killing the idea. I wish they would have Netflix. If Xbox live comes to the switch like they said it would, I will.

Is it part of the PS4/X1 or the PS5/XScar gen? The answer is that it depends on who you ask. If you ask Nintendo fanatics, it's a next gen system that's meant to compete with PS5/XScar. That means it won't win NPD for the rest of its gen and if you mean the rest of this gen... than it doesn't matter because it's not in direct competition with current gen... meaning it's winning because it has no gen-specific competition.

@ProtossRushX: it's a handheld more than a console plus it was released mid gen.

It would be nothing but a shame if it doesnt lead most the way until next gen.

Nintendo had two consoles in one gen and they dont match ps4 sales.

I have to disagree that it's a shame. Nintendo seems to be targeting a specific, but popular, niche. They are rapidly making moves to consolidate their domination over and monopolize that niche, too. It's an intelligent strategy, as it keeps them from repeating recent mistakes while assuring they will remain profitable.

So I don't think they need to be the dominant console at any point because I don't think they're competing for it anymore. Instead, they're competing for a specific market dominance that makes them impossible to remove from the market.

I'm sick of the movie games on PS4/xb1/PC. I'm into old school RPG's like octopath / fire emblem, sony isn't delivering for me anymore. Its time for me to take my ball and go play with Nintendo. Agree?

An Astronaut literally played switch lite on the international space station in the commercial. Nobody is playing PS4 up there.

I was excited about the Switch lite till I saw that it is just too big to fit in a normal pocket, has that literally needless border around the screen, and fugly colors. Pass on dat azz, no thanks.

It's got a good d-pad tho, its smaller, better battery than the first switch, and the pokemon version of the lite looks really good to me.

If it cant beat a coupleof 7 year old consoles that be embarrasing.

They've been going pretty strong. It's debatable but I don't see why not. :P
