Those companies have millions and millions of members, can nintendo really claim such numbers? What would they have to do differently to set themselves apart form the competition?

I'd rather play the new iterations of both games.

i agree with zelda, not so sure on mario kart... it's been a while since mario kart has had a good battle mode. i think mario kart DS was the last one, and double dash's was pretty meh (unless you were playing the bomb-omb-only mode. that was hilarious)[QUOTE="slvrraven9"]no, never. and if anyone disagrees with me then somewhere theres a village thats missing its idiot...BrunoBRSthe one you came from, perhaps? that was cold.
people will most definitely comeIf they build it...they will come...

They can if they wanted to. But then again Nintendo DOESN'T focus too much on Online Gaming, which is a good thing. Most Nintendo games are SP focus and have done perfectly for generations.
Nintendo Network would likely be comparable to PSN, maybe even FREE, which is very likely.
All they really have to do is just get a good freind list and interface and allow voice chat, and their good to go. If they do that AND make it free then it would already be a better online service than XBL (XBL isn't a service, it's a scam, which is why PSN is the best console online service)
i just realized how long they've been in the game. wow. :onintendo have 30 years of games to put on there...HD remake or just add online...it has an endless amount of content dating back to the 80's with the nes..

It's called "Nintendo Wi-Fi" you noob.
Nintendo Network... pfftRisethNameless
And wii shop, nintendo channel, all those combined into one will be the chintendo network

Price is not a determinate factor in the fundamental quality of a service or product....
If you considered the iPhone 4 was an amazing piece of tech and rated it 10/10 in all areas but then they bumped the cost of the product up tenfold, would the actual quality of the package deteriorate in any way?
No, it'd be the the exact same product, just with an arbitrary number attached to it. Your rating for the phone wouldn't suddenly plummet because of the cost of the iPhone.
Well unless they charge for it I don't see why they have to compete with XBL so that just leaves PSN which shouldn't exactly be hard, however it will probably only compete with this generations iterations of those online services and look archaic by next gen.

IIRC you can only call them Chintendo on weekends.
We'll see. Talking to developers and asking what they'd want out of an online service is a good start.Haziqonfire
I believe Activision said they were listening to them last year, as did EA I believe.
Whether that's good or bad though...

Why not. What amazes me though is that i havent seen any topic yet like "" NINTENDO COPIES MS/SONY""... If it was the other way around , Nintendo had Online service first and MS/SONY after , im sure we would have seen some hundreds topics by now how MS/SONY copies Nintendo and how Nintendo ""revolutionize"" gaming. Anyways... why to set themselves apart from competition? Online gaming is just that..online gaming. Theyll have achivements also i bet. Good for them and N fansThose companies have millions and millions of members, can nintendo really claim such numbers?
