Can someone explain to me what an 'exclusive' is?

The word 'exclusive' gets thrown around here and there with these threads and I would like to know what they even are. All I just see is just a bunch of video games that people play. The reason why I have Unchrted on the PS3 and Gears of War on the 360 is because I chose to own them. So tell me, what the hell are 'exclusives?'

Nah, I was also pathetic sheep too, but that was before I have invested in the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 Computer Entertainment System. The summary of this thread is that exclusives and multiplats don't exist to the world. Uncharted, Gears of War, Forza, Gran Turismo, Call of Duty, and Battlefield are all one thing: VIDEO GAMES. We are all one big happy gaming community, but try telling that to the fanboys.

if your using english, it just means to exclude one or more, so a game thats excluded on any systems is exclusive to the ones it is on. Its a relative term so it can be dependent on what is being compared.

Exclusives are a figment of the imagination. Exclusives are games that are ONLY for that system and they are the reason as to why you buy that system to begin with. If one system had exclusives and multiplats, and the other one only had multiplats, guess what system people would buy?

They would buy the first system in that scenario, it's also wise to choose the system with the most exclusves as it has the most options of games to choose from, that's why the PS2 was so successful.

Only people that don't think exclusives matter are really depressed Xbox Fanboys who are trying desperately to convince themsleves they don't want new exclusvies by lying to themselves.

Pointing this out to them get's them upset, don't get angry at me, get angry at MS instead for dumping their origional Xbox fanbase for the Kinect soccer mom crowd. Talking specifically games here, it's a game that can only be played on one system. In the gaming industry, a hook to push a perticular system.

They are mostly unimportant games used as ammo on System Wars by fanboys trying to prove that their system is better for having the most exclusives. Too bad outside of Nintendo first-party, there are very few console exclusives worth playing. All the fun is in the muliplats.
