Callisto Protocol - All versions tested (pc and xbox crying)

looks like a stutter fest on PC which is a shame. Xbox version seems to lack ray tracing and other visual features + runs the worst.

Im looking forward to grabbing this on PS5 since it’s the definitive version. Which version will systems wars pick up?

Xbox version has RT but reflections seem to be missing. Only has shadows and "transmissive" ray tracing.

Runs worse on Quality mode by a significant degree compared to PS5. They run similarly on performance mode but obviously, no RT there.

PC version is horrendous.

If you have a PS5, you can buy this game. I'd avoid it otherwise until they patch it for Xbox and PC.

Performance issues can be solved. Better gameplay, story etc. cannot.

More bad news for Lems...Wish they could catch a break or at the very minimum a good game for the fledgling platform.

@Heil68: to be fair it looks like the issues are closely related to that of the PC and should be addressed in short order. But for the time being the PS5 version is the one to get

PC version is horrendous right now. My 3080 will often drop from 60fps at 4k to 45 or even 30 and lower. This isn't just the UE issue, so the fact it was released in this state is mind-boggling.

You can't change the graphical modes on PC while in game. What in the actual hell? Why did they think it was imperative this game be released now and not delay it? Must've ran out of development money

Denuvo is killing this game’s performance. The devs need to strip it out ASAP. It’s harming their game and it's a shame to see performance issues like this. The game is reportedly unplayable for most people thanks to the combination of UE4, DX12, and of course Denuvo. Outside of the performance issues, the game is alright so far, the gameplay is basically The Last of Us in space. And this is me being mighty generous on the game so far.

When a dev choses Denuvo over optimizing a game for one specific platform that tells me a lot. It tells me they don't care.

All versions aren't tested I would love to know the PS4 performance.

@randy_lahey: when MS buys up SDS, don't worry, xbox is going to be the definite edition. These devs obviously have issues getting the game to run properly.

@davillain: yeah, I refunded on Steam and bought for PS5 and it runs flawlessly. Real shame they botched the PC launch. Once it's properly running on PC i'll probably buy it again in a sale.

@davillain: Stuttering is such a deal breaker. I ended up getting NFS in the end, wasn't even excited for Unbound at first. But a few hours in now and really love it.

I wish DX11 were an option for me, but apparently it disables HDR.

I agree, but like I said, it is not up to them. The publisher ultimately determines what state the game ships in. The developers have to swallow their pride and bend over and take it at that point.

Sony helped in developing this trash. No wonder its so crap. 5/10, Sony needs to go away like Sega, stick to making movies.

I grow so tired of these copy/paste tweets every time a new game is released. It is why I never buy games at launch anymore they are almost always shit. At the end of the day the publishers are to blame as they have the final say in releasing it. Unreal engine can go get stuffed somewhere.
