Im looking to build a new Gaming pc but should I buy dual GeForce 8800 768MB or wait for better cards. If better cards are coming anyone know a release date or link? Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend not adopting Dx10 cards immediatly; more expensive, new technology, no games really needs it at the moment (I believe Supreme Commander can, and Company of Heroes is getting an update to use it).

I'd also recommend taking this question to the PC or PC hardware forums where your likely to get some insightful answers, opposed to here where you get fanboys.

I say wait until the hardware becomes cheaper and more games use DX10

The X2900XTX is getting released next month, and it will likely outperform the 8800gtx. If you can possibly wait, then try and hold off for the benchmarks. Otherwise, buy now. You'll be happy either way...

I haven't tried to keep up a "gaming pc" since the first Quake. I'm thinking about making one just for this CRYSIS game. How long before a "CRYSIS proof" card comes out that can run the game in a high resolution with all effects on at 60FPS? I can wait indefinitely. I don't want to get burned like I did when Quake 2 came out and my $2000 dollar investment became all but worthless. Have the developers of the game given any indication yet?

Definitely wait. With DX10 and DX10 cards being so new, there is no need to jump into a new technology when there really isn't a huge advantage to upgrading right now.
