You don't need the best hardware to render that pedo island lol.

OT: I'd hate to rock that at 4K on my 2080...

Poor Sony, I guess greatness truly awaits. Just not anytime soon.

It's pretty clear DX12 is a failure on MS part. DX11 has been used for so long, its no wonder MS is killing DX12 slowly.

Well, my three-monitor cockpit setup is out. Time to invest in a new mobo and a few extra graphics cards.

Still better money spent than spinner rims. Or a console.

This is what happens when you build a PC game from the ground up with no compromises it's one of the reason why I loved PC gaming back in the day. MS flight simulator is a good example of how amazing PC games can still look when they are not downgraded. Honestly it's complete BS that PC gaming is held back by the big publishers these days.

When implemented properly, there are clear benefits to using DX12. I guess Asobo Studio is not very familiar with it. So, they just used DX11 instead. DX12 does a much better job with draw calls and would probably benefit the big city areas in the game.

DirectX12 is required for Ray Tracing supported titles. It's not dead and MS is not killing it off.

What this game essentially is, is the Bing 3D globe with a hefty game engine overlaid on in it. MS should have really bumped up their recommended specs a bit. I'm playing it on a card that can handle it, but certain locales on the globe make the frame rate choke, particularly urban areas. 16GB of ram doesn't seem like enough to tackle this beast either.

I'm hoping these next round of cards from nVidia ease the burden a bit, because this game is a little more ambitious than most current PCs can handle. Great game though, but it will be better once the handware catches up.

DX12 can also make your CPU and GPU work independently more efficiently.

I remember Battlefield V having awesome DX12 support.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is the most graphically advanced game on the market IMO. (Star Citizen isn't out yet)

Not surprised.

@BenjaminBanklin: I don’t have the beat card either but even with 32Gb I see some struggles in the same areas. Had to lower the render quality and shadows to run it at a decent frame rate in major cities.

It means that if PC gamers bought enough games, they would get exclusives that would melt consoles into the ground, in terms of graphics and physics and AI.

They don't, though.

It ain't publishers nor console gamers fault that PC gamers just won't buy enough copies.

No, this is what happens when the game engine is an unoptimized mess, unless, of course, you think that a 2080Ti getting only 25% higher FPS than a 2060 at 1080p, because it can't utilize more than 4 CPU cores, is somehow a sign of quality.

It does need some optomozation work but I'm finding performance fine.

i5 6600k with a gtx 1080 running high to ultra @ 1440p and getting 50 to 60 fps when not near a major city and 30 in cities. For this type of game it doesn't even register as an annoyance to me and I'm someone who generally won't even play a game that can't hold 60.

Though when VR is supported people will need beefy machines

LMAO you can't be serious? you do know that Witcher 3 on PC sold more copies then on all consoles combined. https://www.spieltimes.com/news/the-witcher-3-sold-more-copies-on-pc-than-all-console-platforms-combined-in-2019/

I remember people crying about Crysis being unoptimized when it was released. 😂 But when its optimized they cry again that it's being held back by consoles.🤣 The reality is that they don't know what they are talking about but keeping spewing terms aimlessly.

How is it a failure on MS part or what gave you an idea that MS is killing DX12? When they just officially extend it with DX12 ultimate?

So how many third party console exclusives are there? While they still exist in droves on PC. May be you're saying console gamers buy even less games than PC gamers.

Hit me up if you still don't realize the fallacy of your stupid argument and I'll explain it further.
