Doesn't look like a downgrade, looks like they went more dystopian with the art direction. Need to see more.

That's definitely a downgrade. A lot of missing elements in the newer screenshot and scene complexity has been reduced.

Less assets specially on the distance, worse assets/worse lod.

The population is also pretty weak on the latest trailers but who knows. I'm not holding my breath and I'm not that excited for the game eitherway so the downgrades barely affect me.

Meh. Looks fine to me although I’m not really one to get all fussed over downgrades myself. I’m sure the game will still look great regardless.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if all the colorful banners were removed because it was clouding players' ability to see correctly during the game.

Design > Graphics. Always.

TC posts a single pic with no link and minimal context. Living up to the trolling prior. Any mod should shut this down, as it's nonsensical.

I was pretty happy with how the game looked in the new trailers. It didn't blow me away, but it looked up there with other AAA open world games, and I noticed some nice ray-traced reflections.

This game is coming out on a POS known as the XboneS. If that's not being held back, i don't know what is.

It looks like the bottom pic went through the 7 hells of compression.

Where's the downgrade? I just see different lighting and more compression.

Hardware probably couldn't support all the elements especially with ray tracing. Hopefully PC gets a nice version they want and consoles get what they can.

Assuming it's even the same area, the elements changed or removed don't seem like game changers for performance.

As previously stated, would interpret this one as an artistic choice.

Still, these are just claustrophobic low res shots, they don't communicate much of anything.

Wouldn't be some wild thing for this game to see a downgrade, but these shots don't show us that.

@lifelessablaze: Confirmed by who TC? As far as I'm concern, there's no link who actually confirmed this downgrade, and let's be real. Downgrades do happen all the time and this is more art direction as @Pedro pointed out.
