Braverly Default GS review

According to the review, the story is rather weak, but the gameplay is amazing and innovative.

With its job system, superb gameplay, and throwaway story, it sounds like Final Fantasy 5 with pretty art (which is a good thing since Final Fantasy 5 is the shit).

Damn, not the first time I've heard it has a weak story. :(

im still waiting for a europe release :S. it was supposed to be released on the sixth but not one store where i live has it.

i could get it from the eshop but that would take a week to download. will probably get it online if the local doesnt get its act together.

So, I was right. Story is starting to become more important in games nowadays than they used to be.

Final Fantasy V really is the sh*t. I f*cking love that game. I REALLY want to play Bravely Default.

Take away the beautiful art style, and the first few hours provide little we've not seen before and little incentive to continue.

Yeah I'll wait for a price cut. Game seems interesting(for a jrpg I guess), don't feel like spending 40 bucks on a game that feels like taking its time to be entertaining. Especially given my backlog.

I just beat it a few hours ago (and now that I've finally finished it, I've officially beaten FFs 4 through 13, not including 11). There's far more room for strategy than other FF games; it's so fun to plan your tactics around the different jobs.

Come on guys, it was clearly flame bait. Bravely Default is one of my most anticipated games of next year.

Read NeoGAF and people that have finshed the game for their impressions, rushed reviews here wont tell the whole story

Good score! this will probably be my second 3DS game and will buy it as soon as it gets a big price drop, i have way too many games to buy next year not to mention a whole new system

Yeah, the story is eh. But everything else is magnificent. Easily my favorite 3DS game.

Something I wanna see come back to FF (besides ATB) is the feature from FF3 DS where you could change weapons mid battle. Imo it gave you some flexibility in battles like equiping a life stealing weapon or a good elemental weapon + weapons could cast magic as well.

Best thing square have put out in a long time.... the problem is they seem to not think we want games like this anymore and it likely didnt get the kind of funding needed for a better writen story etc... which is a shame... its not quite on the level of some of there old skool stuff (FF6, chrono trigger etc) but its more fun to play than FF13 and all its crappy squeals. This to me is like FF 11 since the series went to shit after X...

@GreySeal9: make sure you try out Final Fantasy Dimensions for iOS (Android?). It's definitely a fun game, with an improved Final Fantasy V style job system with an ATB battle system.
