Ever bought a same game twice to see the difference on a console and pc version. Thinking off buying fall out 4 for x1x even though ive got it for pc just to see what it like.

Fallout 3 was the only one. Somehow my disc got messed up(the disc tray in the package was scratching it up) and the game stopped working. I rebought it
Only once. I have two copies of Tekken Tag Tournament for PS2 because I misplaced one. I found it like a year later, but I had already bought another.
Yeah I’ve purchased various games more then once. Most of them were for different consoles and were either just ports or remastered for higher generation consoles.
Just a few. Binding of Isaac (PC, 3DS, Switch) and Rocket League (PC, Switch) are the only ones I can think of. BoI is the same (3DS version was slightly buggier), Rocket League on Switch looks way worse than PC version. It's just as fun, though.
I'm eagerly awaiting Okami on PC. I'm very happy to no longer being forced to go back to the questionable Wii version. To use the paintbrush with the wiimote should've been awesome, but it sucked. So, good controls + amazeballs graphics is gonna be sweet.
I have 3 games which I have more than one copy of them. Although they are not 1-1 the same.
I have Kingdom Heart 2 on PS2, but I bought KH 2.5 to play Birth By Sleep. So in some way, I have KH2 twice.
I have the original DOA5 on PS3, but I bought DOA 5 Last Round on ps4 for the extra characters.
The only game that really counts is GTA5, which I have both on PS3 and PS4 (althought, the copy on PS4 belongs to my brother)
Used to happen more before but these days It is rare I do that, unless its a older game but the recent ones I barely have the time to finish them once, let alone replay and re-buy them.
Spliter Cell: Double Agent, because the PS2 version was a completely different (and honestly better) game than the PC/360/ps3 version
I've bought Skyrim for PC (Steam sale, very cheap, goofed around with mods, but never really played the game), on PS4 (wanted to see it in 4k) and Switch. Switch version is the best imo. I've bought Doom for the PS4 and the Switch. Rise of the Tomb Raider for Xbone and PS4. Mario 64 for N64 and Wii U... and now I realize there are too many games to list...
I did that for MGS2 Sons of Liberty for My PS2 and original xbox.
I couldn't believe my buddy when he told me the PS2 version of MGS2 had better graphics on PS2 than on xbox (owned the xbox version first) so I had to test when I first got my PS2 and to my disbelief it actually turned out to be true.
Dat Emotion Engine :P
I've bought some games multiple times, with Resident Evil 4 taking the lead on PS2, PS3, PS4, and PC. The only one that I felt forced to was with Fallout 3. I had it on 360, then the 360 broke. I got in on the PS3 and it was unplayable, so I got it on a steam sale when I got my PC. I wouldn't do it to see how it would play on another system though. I'll get a game more than once if I love it and if I'm migrating to another console. I don't have multiple systems hooked up cause I hate clutter.
@skipper847: Once, I bought diablo (the original) for PSX, completely ignorant of the fact that it began on PC. The controller scheme surprisingly wasn't terrible all things considered. But no comparison to a keyboard/mouse.
Then I played the PC version at a friend's house, and absolutely had to get it. Plus a computer to play it.
Only case this ever happened was when I got it on console first because it was only available on console at the time, then re-bought it on PC later on. As with the case of GTAV because I didn't know it'd be coming out for PC.
I'd never double dip on purpose.
Yeah, I done it many times on last-gen and it never rubs me the wrong way buying the same game on different platforms. But nowadays, I just wait until my game becomes available on the platform of choice and that's always gonna be on PC. I used to buy the console version before PC release but guess what, NOT anymore! GTAV was a wake up call for me.

Except it does look noticeably better on the Xbox lol.
The PS2 version was still better though. It had much better controls due to pressure sensitive buttons. And it had better performance. PS2 version maintains a locked 60 frames for most of the game, whereas the Xbox version had tons of slowdown.
I bought Dark Souls 2 many times.
It's Dark Souls though, so..... and I was going to a better version each time. Plus I played the hell out of it so I can't say I didn't get my money's worth.
I would recommend not buying FO4 for X1X if you have it for PC, unless your PC can't run it well. PC is objectively the better version in every conceivable way.
I bought Oblivion on PC and Xbox 360, Skyrim (and Fallout 4) on PC and Xbox One. Always happens to be Bethesda Game Studios' games.
Aside from bundles I got GTA5 for PS3 and then PC and Oblivion for the 360 and then the PC due to not having a GPU good enough at the time because I spend my upgrade money on a console but once I upgraded there was no going back to 360 Oblivion mainly because of the load times and framerate.
Sure. I got all my fave last gen games for both PS3 and 360 just so I could see which port is better.
Also had many same games for last gen and current gen. For example, played through DAI on 360 and on PS4. Same with Watch Dogs, GTAV and Shadow of Mordor, which I played on PS3, 360 and PS4 just because I like the games so much!
@pyro1245: Well even though my pc is only over a year old with a 1080 ex oc edition it woulnt play fallout 4 very well and had very bad performence. Although has said my pc is in shop where i got it from as when last played it froze and since no picture with the mem ok light and cpu light on mobo light up. Now im using the x1x to wright this so it quite hard. But my pc has never liked fall out 4.
When I used to trade in games I would get the urge to play a game a year or two after owning it and buy it again or get GOTY editions. I keep all games now unless I can sell them for extortionate amounts, no family discounts.
I do re-buy games digitally sometimes if I see a good price(games that I only own physical I mean). I love the convenience of digital but I only do this with games I really enjoy and that I still play from time to time. But I wish games were like the Blue Ray Movies, where you usually get a digital copy included with the disc. If that were the case I would be more tempted to buy physical but going digital this gen was so convenient for me. A lot of the 360 BC games I bought twice because I only had them on disc and I Wanted all digital
@Stevo_the_gamer: there is something about Oblivion that always makes me want to replay it whenever I think about it, a distinct world, great soundtrack...great memories with that game
@Alucard_Prime: Indeed! Well over 500 hours were put in that game. Plus the expansion was fantastic as well.
I bought GTA 4 and 5 on PS3 and later on PC...yeah, Rockstar got me with their 1 year delay on PC releases but it works. I'm sure when GTA 6 comes out, I'll buy a console just to play it then later again for the PC.
I'm doing that a lot with Switch. I like to get indies again for Switch to take to work. Switch is the new Steam for me. Stardew Valley was made for Switch.
