BOTW= GOTY 2017 ?

I know it's still too early but do you think we now can confidently say BotW will be picked as 2017 GOTY winner ? Personally I hardly think of any games that can beat this game.

Cant think of any game besides RDR 2 having a shot, so most likely yes.

Not for me. But officially, probably. It seems overhyped to me but I haven't actually played it. The streams aren't doing much for me though. I'm sure I would enjoy it but the hype is well beyond what I think I'll personally get out of it. Still, I always root for Nintendo to get their groove back and tip my hat to them on this one.

Not if RDR 2 releases this year. I expect a delay though. The first half of this year has been so packed so I'm expecting nothing but the usual annualized suspects in the latter half.

We'll see, it's a long year. But most likely yes, almost every Zelda game is awarded the commendation from some outlet or another.

Pretty sure this is a shoe in. Only other contenders are Red Dead Redemption 2, Persona 5 and Mario Odyssey.

Well it's certainly the early front runner however Mass Effect Andromeda and Red Dead Redemption 2 are two upcoming games that immediately spring to my mind as being strong potential contenders.

It's overrated, yes.

Mass Effect Andromeda is a lock for a 9 in my book and no higher. Prey? 8 or 9. Ditto Super Mario Odyssey. The only possible contender I can think of is RDR 2, and GTA V got a 9, while RDR got a 9.5. I think it will get a 9.

So yeah, I would say you can shut the books and go home, it's pretty much already over.

Have not played BOTW or RDR2 but RDR2 is a waaaay better game, therefore RDR2 should win.

Assumptions.

Breath of the wild has it on lock for sure.

Front runner for sure. Wont be my personal choice though.

Unless something innovative comes out GOTY is locked by Zelda.

@Snowywonders: Ahhh got ya. Good one. You're right though. All games with zero gameplay or info are automatically better than Zelda trash.

I'm willing to bet my life savings that BOTW will win the majority of GOTY awards... even if something equally as good comes. Because it's Zelda...

Or it could win because, you know, it's actually a really great game
