Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 announced. Release date is July 10th, 2020

So it looks like Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is getting a sequel which is awesome. I liked the first one a lot since I'm a huge fan of the classic Castlevania games. I hope in the future they do a 16 bit style version if they ever plan to make more. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night gets a sequel as well.

I'll wait till this one hits Game Pass as I did with the first one.

Is it to much for me to ask for these types of games with modern pixels? Seriously 8bit pixels are hideous. I get the nostalgia aspect but put some effort into it.

Personally I dig the look. The art is nice and it's not like they went with straight up 8 bit limitations, no NES game could look like that.

Still I get your point. In this case that was their goal, but it's also a budgetary issue. Quality high rez sprite animation is pretty costly.

Iga should really look towards games like Guilty Gear or Ori for how he handles art in his games. The former being full 3d foreground and characters with shading and rendering methods that look 2d. The latter creating a lot of the assets in 3d and then rendering the animations to sprites.

I get that this is more spinoff of a stretch goal thing, and retro was the point. But for his main games, could definitely go with a better approach.

In case you guys are more interested, there is a second trailer for the game. Also Bloodstained: COTM2 is coming out on July 10. I'm surprised that it is coming out very early. The new characters and co-op looks cool.
