Sad, or rather expected news. Shit show mess of a game, continues to be shit-show. Cheesy goodness brought from Dorito Pope himself.

So this late in development it gets another lead developer?!

Holy hell, this is like Dead Island 2... a game which we never saw resurface.

Man, I really wanted to see good news on this game. This may never come out.

lol, k.

Not sure if good or bad, but I've never heard of HardsuitLabs. So my guess is that they're not a very good studio, and Bloodlines 2 is more or less doomed.

Oh well. It's not like I expected development for this game to be smooth.

Had zero expectations on this anyway. The previews focused too much on gameplay for my liking, when what made the original VTMB interesting was its attempt to be an immersive vampire underworld sim. Felt like they might be missing the point of VTMB, so pretty much following it out of morbid curiosity. Could be good, could be trash, we'll see.

Or so I thought. This is now Aliens: Colonial Marines territory of farce. 95% going to be trash, if we'll even see it at all.

.... eh no hype. First game took a lot of fan effort to actually fix and add removed content for the game. I am sure devs gonna do the Bethesda route, sells the game barely playable and hoping a huge fan community adding mods and love into it.

The original Bloodlines launched with one game-breaking bug (which was quickly patched) and a few other oddities. It was nowhere near Bethesda levels of awfulness.

Also, I'm guessing content was cut because Troika was on the verge of bankruptcy? They closed their doors a few months after Bloodlines released.

Oh jeez. All hype dead now. When/if it comes out I'll see how everything shook out, but I won't be holding my breath in advance

Fun fact: This was one of the games Microsoft showed off during their XSX reveal.

Phil sure knows how to pick em!

Wow what a mess. I wonder how different the game will be with the new developers now.

I just realized how many garbage lead devs that there are in the gaming industry, seriously you have one job DO IT. It's like being a NFL kicker for the 2020 season, take a shot on how many missed field goals and prepare yourself for alcohol poisoning.

Yeah, this is gonna be a steaming turd if it ever sees the light of day. I never played the first, but only heard really good things, so I doubt this would have even come close to matching the original.

Great news. Lets not pretend that the trailer for this game did not look exceptionally rough, even more rough than the no music Halo Infinite.

First has it's fair share of problems. To be sure.

I tried it way too late to be able to enjoy it... Definitely didn't age well in some respects.

well it looks like its following in the fine tradition of its predecessor :(.

still a delay is better than releasing an absolutely broken mess. i hope they can turn it around. sometimes games that go through development hell still turn out well (max payne and freelancer for example).

@lundy86_4: the first is actually a hot mess with major flaws. It's great despite that - really shining in building a sense of immersion in this strange alternate reality of our world. I think it will be pretty easy to meet or surpass the original on a technical polish and even design cohesion standpoint. The thing I'm much more worried about is interesting quests and good world building

@xantufrog: Yea. Think the thing that really helps it's writing, it walks that tight-rope between being self-aware, ludicrous juxtaposed against earnestly serious, perfectly.

When play something like Borderlands, every asshole is wacky and shouting. It's trying too hard.

Play some Bioware shit, relentingly po-faced, awkward stilted dialogue.

It's a lot like Paul Verhoeven, stuff like Robocop where it perfectly balances it's ton able to seamlessly jump from one end to the other.
