Then I'll actually play it. I don't pay monthly fees to play any game. Heil68your smart my friend c: all the new MMORPG are and must be going to the f2p road in order to "survive"
Good, I'd like to try ToR.Badoshme too but i doubt ima like it, either way it would be free so eh , im still waiting for KOTOR 3 single player experience.
Good, I'd like to try ToR.Badoshwell starting in july it's going F2P up to lvl 15. Which is a good 10-15 hours. At least for me it was

Uhh I got to the third planet by lvl 20I don't know what the big "gotcha" people on the interwebs are tlaking about actually is...
Almost every MMO dev has seen their profit margins skyrocket when going F2P.
If you think selling 2.5 million units of the game, plus having a good 8 months of subscription fees coming in for 1.4 million hasn't ALREADY covered their devleopment and marketing costs, you're crazy.
They are ALREADY making a profit on this game. They have not failed, except in that their numbers aren't what they would have hoped.
Going F2P will increase their player base 3 fold (I know I will go bakc to it at that point - it wasn't a bad game, just wasn't worth $15 a month for me) and if they cna doa good job monitizing it (and relaly they just have to borrow a page form the guys doing ti right like TF2 and LOL), they can easily make a heck of a profitable and popular MMO.
But people on the internet who know jack all about the biz swear up and down that they somehow failed.
You don't have to be 12 million strong as an MMO to make a nice profit. WOW isn't makign a nice profit. It's making the frigging national budget of smallish COUNTRY.
Or in other words, you don't have to be a COD to make a profit.

Almost, the character story runs pretty dry once you hit the third planet, 90+% focus on meaningless questing past that point, and a damn shame too. It's grinding to complete the 1 class quest-line per planet. Should have just been KOTOR3.[QUOTE="finalfantasy94"][QUOTE="Animal-Mother"] well starting in july it's going F2P up to lvl 15. If it went F2P I wouldn't mind going back in and dropping a few bucks here or there. It's the way to absolute success and an explosion of profit. All those Microtransactions would put the revenue through the roof.

They talking about how it failed to dethrone WoW, a good chunk of people hyped it as that. Man, this makes me reminisce about how Warhammer Online was suppose to dethrone WoW, Age of Conan was supposed to do the same.
I bet you, some delusional fanboys are going to scream how Elder Scrolls Online is going to dethrone it. I don't play mmorpgs, but damn, WoW is a one time wonder. This huge ass cash cow has become embedded in contemporary human culture.

All MMO's are just single player 'til max level anyway... just really really bad ones, while this one is just about acceptable 'til you hit 20.
I think that BioWare had a pretty good idea though, it's just not executed well at all.

Personally, I feel a bit weird playing a game that I'm not paying for, I no longer feel obliged to play it, and I uninstall it. :pPC - The platform of free 2 playz

You don't know that. TOR's biggest downfall as far as I'm aware is the lack of end game content and it's extreme familiarity to WoW. Had they worked on those issues they may have just kept growing.
Not too surprising.
New subscription MMOs are odd to me. They all seem to think they can get like multi-million subscribers despite the fact that none of them have and nobody builds them for <1M subscribe survivability. Either that or there's an obvious plan of get who ever is willing to buy a lifetime subscription or pay monthly for however many months we can string that along before switching to F2P.
Anyways, I wish they'd put this out on PS3 or Xbox.

you can make a poll of what people actually wants : Tor or Kotor 3 and see how that turns out.you can make a poll of what people actually wants : Tor or Kotor 3 and see how that turns out.the-obiwan
Gaming forums rarely give accurate polls. If I put up COD vs The last of US we all know TLOU is going to win, but in the real world COD is infinitely more wanted.

Define "real world". It depends entirely on target audience. Hint: it's definitely not the original fanbase. Then I'll actually play it. I don't pay monthly fees to play any game. Heil68Yea I'm in the same boat. Too many different games to play to sink another chunk of cash into a single one.
