Bioshock Infinite or DOOM - which is better?

I gotta go with DOOM. The frantic gameplay is much more fun in this game. In Bioshock it felt like a choir at times. What about you, SW? What are your thoughts on this very important matter?

Gameplay always trumps story and DOOM has better gameplay than Infinite. More weapons, more enemy types, better secrets, verticality, platforming, powerups, and a lot of other things, make it a far superior game than infinite.

I preferred DOOM but for different reasons. They're very different games and Infinite was great but it was a little disappointing story wise. So my vote goes to DOOM which did not compromise in its vision and gave me exactly what I wanted

What a dumb comparison. They offer difference gameplay experiences. If you wanted to do a more logical comparison it would be Shadow Warrior vs Doom but its obvious logic was not the foundation to the creation of this thread.

Anyways, haven't played Doom so i'd go with Infinite.

Doom is stupid fun from beginning to end and never pretends to be anything else, so that.

Story wise Infinite. Looking for a game that is just a wild, kill everything that moves FPS, then Doom wins.

Two completely different styles of games. Hard to compare. Sort of like saying which is better The Witcher 3 or The Thousand Year Door.

Doom, it's not the worst AAA title in recent memory so there's that. Beyond that it might be the best FPS ever.

I love Bioshock's story and setting, but DOOM shows what it's all about: pure fun !

Doom. Not even close to me because I love Doom but don't like Bioshock Infinite at all. I managed to finish it but disliked it the whole way through.

Doom is, alongside Dark Souls III, one of the high water marks of good gaming moments in 2016. Hell, I'll say it's probably going to go down as one of the best shooters ever.

Every single Doom ever made has better gameplay than any BioShock game. Even Doom 3.

BioShock: Infinite is just pretentious garbage with monotonous gameplay.

I like both for different reasons. If I just want to kill stuff in a single player game, I would go with DOOM. If I want a game with a story driven experience, I would go with Infinite.

Doom was fun, but I'm a sucker for a good story... so gotta go Bioshock.

I think the original Bioshock had a decent story. It wasn't told very well, and would be put to better use in a movie, but the themes and the premise of the game were quite interesting.

Doom 2016 was much better.

Id say they might be equal in aesthetics. If in different ways. But doom wins overall. By quite a bit actually. That story mode is so insanely good.

Infinite is one of the most overrated games of all time imo. The story is a jumbled mess, the gameplay is shooting waves of bullet sponge enemies in open areas , horrible spawn points and just generally bad design all the way around. I played a handful of hours before realizing that everything I've heard about the game just isn't true.

Excited about an OG Bioshock remaster though.

I don't care either way about people shitting on Infinite, but it is good to see that Doom 4 has been generally getting some love from gamers. If anything it reinforces the good decisions that Id made with the game. It's the peoples champ right now.

And to think they almost went with a CoD clone, holy shit.

I personally really enjoyed Bioshock: Infinite. That being said, I'd say the gameplay of Doom is a lot tighter. But I think that comparison is apples and oranges in the first place.

Havent played Doom campaign yet so cant say. I will say unlike some here I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite.

lol for all of about 20 minutes yeah, it sucks. Hard to believe it's even part of the same game, not sure why they bothered tbh.

But that single player is excellent which is all I really want from Doom.
