Biggest mistake Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo made?

What were biggest mistakes Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo ever made? It does not have to be about only gaming but overall company.

I say:

Microsoft:

*Rushing with Kinect. Microsoft should have made more Kinect games, not just drop and have lack of games. Also 200 euros for Kinect that not work so well? If Apple/Sony/Nintendo made Kinect with 200 euros im sure it would work better

*Not buying game developement studios. Paying money for exclusives costs more than to have own developers.

*Hiring wrong hardware team. Clearly, hardware team who made Xbox One is stupid. How come that parts cost same much like PS4 but console is way bigger and weaker? It even has power supply and battery controller. wtf... totally outdated.

Sony:

*Rebooting Spider-Man. Clearly, every new Spider-Man movie makes less and less money. Instead of rushing, milking and losing money they should have focus better story and movie. Better movie = more money. Rushing = less money.

*PS3 cell, too high priced console. Clearly, it was massive loss for Sony. They lost too much money.

Nintendo:

*Too weak hardware. Sure, it has great games but having same weak hardware like PS3 or Xbox 360, but higher price and worse games and less games is bad. This is one of the reason why Wii U is flop

*Lack of online. Do i need to say more? Xbox Halo back in 2004 has even better online than Wii u has right now.

*Lack of 3rd party games. Again, same reason. Too weak hardware = less 3rd party games. also Nintendo does not support 3rd party dev studios and don´t care.

There's nothing wrong with the hardware team they did a good job. MS 'had' a vision and the hardware design was a by-product of that. Also "Totally outdated"? It's size is to keep it well vented and quiet. And the only component that is weaker is the GPU.

To begin, if apple made Kinect, it would have been way more than 200. I'm not buying others would have made new tech necessarily better.

Yeah right. With all the CPAs and marketing analysts a multibillion dollar corporation uses, they are spending more money buying exclusivity than day to day operating and development costs of owning a studio. You can't be this naïve.

While the console is bigger (I never understood the problem, I don't buy a console to look at it) much weaker? No. The wiiu is much weaker which is why it wont get the multiplats x1 and ps4 get. Some people love exaggerating.

I agree on Spiderman. Shame studios can't let something lay for a while. Batman was dormant a good number of years. Make people want it again.

I wouldn't narrow it just to the cell. It was Sony's approach to gaming with arrogance really. Believing they were the market, rather than just the market leader hurt them because they had to learn, we are the market.

Sony: selling key franchises like crash and spyro. The ps4 could use some diversity in its library. They need more colorful 3d platformers. For example, with naughty dog behind a new crash on ps4 the cutsences would look like a cool Disney animated tv show.

Microsoft: Too much focus on kinect and not a lot of first party content. They seem to be correcting these issues now, but for how long?

Nintendo: online could be better. They need an easier way to set up and join games. More games need to support voice chat. Also Nintendo is doing very little to get major 3rd party dev support. With games like assassins creed 4 getting pre order content with playstaion and Xbox editions swaying consumers to buy. On Nintendo you get nothing.

Sonys was definitly PS3 hardware ... Too many breakthrough technologies for almost no reason .... Neither cell nor BD was a must have last gen and considering the CRAP of architecture that made developers life a nightmare ... pfff .. So many bad decisions combined is ridiculous. Price , lack of games , stupid marketing , cut of original specifications like Backwards compatibility and drives , weak GPU for such a price , very low memory ... tragedy.

MSs mistake was ... Xbox one.
They felt into a trap. After Wiis success they thought that was the future. So they thought to make a console with super casual appeal while being strong enough to play multiplatform games.... It didnt work as intended and now ... they losing this gen.

Nintendos mistake was ...

Alot of ones , since is one of the oldest companies and released many hardwares in the past its too easy to find many negative things and mistakes. Since we talking about recent history though ill stick to it and ill say i didnt like AT ALL the fact that Nintendo let Wii die so fast , having it in life support more than 2 years also , with 100+ million base out there ... I think that was stupid and clearly shows the true face of Nintendo.

IDK, I meant the Vita in general, but just because of how badly it failed financially. I don't doubt how good it is as a system.

Microsoft: Lack of hardware quality control, especially on 360.

Sony: Not supporting PSV with great first party and turning it into a pathetic indie machine and PS4 accessory.

Nintendo: Way too high of an emphasis on motion controls. It ruined me on Zelda and in turn, Nintendo consoles altogether.

Nintendo:

• Mistreating 3rd party developers in the 90s.
• Thinking that online gaming was just a fad.
• Solidifying their kiddy image on GameCube by making their console look like a purple fisher price toy, turning their most adult appealing franchise into a cartoon instead of giving them the epic realistic game they wanted, and running this Super Mario Sunshine commercial

Microsoft:

• Shifting their focus to trying to win over the Wii market with Kinect instead of just continuing their hardcore gaming focus that made the 360 such a huge success.
• Being the first to announce their DRM policy. I fully believe that Sony also had plans to use DRM until they saw the huge negative backlash that Microsoft received and wisely decided to change plans and paint themselves as the good guys against DRM.

Sony:

• Getting way too arrogant after the success of the PS2 and thinking that they could do whatever they wanted and still continue to dominate.
• Their entire E3 2006 show.
• Releasing the PS3 for $600.
• Not building the PS3 with online gaming in mind from the ground up like Microsoft did with the 360.
• Passing on their opportunity to keep Grand Theft Auto exclusive to PlayStation.

I like how MS/Nintendo has 3 reasons, and Sony has 2 reasons only one being a game...

PS4- Should've gone with a $450 console that isn't using a cellphone CPU but a powerful six core cpu

WiiU- Six years too late, nough said

X1- Gimped hardware because of fking kinect. Now there's nothing else left to do but wait for next gen that may come in 7+ years and hope MS doesn't cheap out on everything inside a gaming console because of another gimmick (VR would be my guess)

Sony- ps3 $600 at a loss!! Divided company. Was arrogant and slow to adapt, ex. late to the android game, ehh cell lol, etc. Vita *facepalm*, I think psp2 as the name would had sold much better.

Ninty- Wiiu, they should had been making adjustments when the wii gimmick hype died down. Wii U is just a continuation of their downfall with consoles.

MS- They gambled on pushing the console beyond a gaming device with x1, can't blame them, but gamers will be gamers. Its as if sony and ms traded places. They are quick to backpedal though. Killed off some of their studios and Rare ughh *facepalm*.
