Bethesda announces Indiana Jones game

'Bethesda has just teased a new project from Wolfenstein developer MachineGames - and it's an Indiana Jones game.

The teaser trailer below pans across a desk with numerous items belonging to Jones: books on ancient monuments and items (one apparently written by Todd Howard), a college coffee mug, a battered diary, a compass, plane ticket to Rome and a passport stamped by Bethesda. MachineGames and the new Lucasfilm Games logos pop up on an antique typewriter and camera.

Then we see Jones' iconic hat and whip, as the start of the series' iconic theme kicks in.'

I see some potential. I just don't want it to be anywhere near close to TR or UC. Also don't want it to have a fluffy tone the UC series have.

Machine games = instabuy

Think of the trigger feedback from using the whip on ps5. Talk about True Immersion and premium gaming on ps5.

Finally its not another shitty wolfenstein game.

Yeah, Wolfenstein: Youngblood gave me the impression that they were getting a bit tired and jaded. Probably a good idea to freshen things up by taking on a new IP.

And like I said, I believe a true test of a developer's ability is when they do something different. This therefore intrigues me the same way Playground Games's Fable does. Looking forward to seeing more.

Wolfenstein 3 was already confirmed in the past

Wolfenstein 3 = instabuy

Indiana Jones = instabuy

Deathloop = skip

If indiana jones is third person then skip. otherwise if FPS then buy.

Deathloop is must buy. Wolfenstein 3 is instant skip.

I love every single Arkane game, from Arx Fatalis to Prey, but what's so special about Deathloop?

I'd be all over this game as it's my favorite genre and I grew up on and still love the Indy movies... but...

...it's owned under LucasArts which is bannered under EA but developed by Bethesda which is owned by Microsoft...

I'll just assume PS5 won't see it. Thus, I won't be playing it. Oh well.

Although given who's developing the game, I have optimistic hopes for this one.

LucasFilm Games seems to be little more than Disney's IP licensing house, and has nothing to do with EA. EA just has the exclusive Star Wars license, which doesn't include Indiana Jones.

But yeah, it's Bethesda, so very likely a Xbox/PC timed exclusive at least.

Interesting ip to reignite only decent indiana jones game I've played is the lego game.

I enjoy all of Indiana Jones movies but never played any of the games. I'm sorry but Uncharted & Tomb Raider games are already an Indian Jones ripoff and I prefer those games anyway. I'll pass on this new Indiana Jones game.

Not a fan of MachineGames unfortunately.

Don't expect this to be anything like or remotely as good as something like Infernal Machine.

Be stupid. And try too hard to be Uncharted.

Maybe these guys can only make good movie to game adoption. so hoping its first person.

if its third person it will be bethesda uncharted and thus it will suck as third person games today are movie games.

I would prefer a 3rd person game I think xbox has enough 1st person very interesting project.

Awesome news! I love the Indiana Jones franchise so I’m very hyped for this game.

I thought they were working on Wolfenstein 3. Anyway, if they use original PoP trilogy as template than there's some hope however UC/TR treatment will just doom it.

This doesn't seem like it'll be MS exclusive as the new Lucasfilm has a hand in it.

I'm sure they timed it perfectly now that Uncharted's MIA.

I bet this game will be close to typical Sony template with more "gamey" elements.

@rzxv04: Xbox will never get a game close to the quality of uncharted buddy. Only thing Xbox can count on is its fannies keeping the hopes and dreams alive - going on 10 years now.

Technically, it'll probably a PC game too. Possibly even a multi-plat, so nothing's that too unusually specially with multi-plat entries like nu tomb raider.

If Nathan Drake wasn't such an unlikable prick that'd be the best Indiana Jones game already.

All I want is for this game to not be a murder simulator.

If it's like UC and the TR reboot series I'll probably skip it. If they have a fresh twist on the gameplay loop and a focus on exploration and platforming (that is actually remotely challenging) then my ears will perk back up

Looking forward to playing the best looking version on PS5.
