Didn't even mention about For Honor? Oh well, I got For Honor for free on Steam last year, most likely I will never download it, but free is free back then so why not? As for Alan Wake. Alan Wake is one of the best games I enjoy from Remedy but sadly, I already bought both Alan Wake game over five years ago for $4 from Steam sale.
You can tell Epic is in desperation to get all the major PC players come to Epic over anyone else. Competition is good for the gaming community but NOT timely exclusive deals is another story.
This game was mediocre, thus the good decision was made not to make a sequel.
Alan wake was certainly better than any resident evil game due to its story, its atmosphere and its gameplay is far above.
flashlight mechanics was very interesting. Alan wake feel like Max payne of horror games.

You like bad games. I get it.
Edit: You are so right that Resident Evil has more sequels than this one off because Alan Wake was so much better right?

yeah any game that get sequel is best. by this logic. COD and BF are best franchise because they release every year.
Everything is either the best ever or worst ever.
God, I've crossed into an alternate universe. A sniper thread that isn't completely fucking stupid!

I would argue gamers have decided that the others are better by purchasing the first, second and third over not purchasing it at all. Alan Wake flopped, the other games didn't. That indicates that gamers preferred the other over this game, which from my experience was mediocre. So, I agree with the masses. :)
Timed? no thank you
What about it is timed? You add it to your account and it's yours. Sure, it's the EGS, but it's free. I've been grabbing every single free game they've been offering since the beginning, and I'll never spend a cent on the storefront.

Cool. dling soon then.Ty
How many here are old enough to remember what Alan Wake was originally meant to be? The early tech demos for Alan Wake when it was a PC exclusive were very impressive for the time. Then it became a multiplat and they significantly scaled back their ambition for the game.
Alan Wake? Well that was unexpected when I clicked on what I presumed would be "best third-person horror." I played Alan Wake back in the day on the Xbox 360, and to be honest I couldn't bring myself to finish the game over how mediocre it was.
I'll take Resident Evil or even Evil Within over this game.
That's not Resident Evil 4, and you can already play that on Steam.
RE4 absolutely suck. it was bad back in days and still bad now.

I remember man I really wish we got the PC version open world game here are some old screenshots.
They really need to get The Thing on GOG.
Believe it or not I recently installed it from my CD, and it works just fine
Bought it years ago for dirt cheap on steam just before it got taken down for music licensing issues. Despite the nice graphics and Twin Peaks-esque atmosphere, I found it to have mediocre gameplay and lame enemies, with invisible walls everywhere. More power to anyone who enjoyed it, but the third person horror genre must be pretty bad if THIS game was the best.

Yes, could just buy a cheapo copy off amazon or get it in about 5 seconds by other means. Rather have it on GOG where more people can play it. Deserves alot more than obscure relic.
Everything is either the best ever or worst ever.
everyones favorite casual pve queen with another recommendation.
Lol, pretty much.
Put a few hours into it so far. Seems decent. The graphics are quite nice too, though the facial animations are dreadful, even for the time. I'm not sure what happened there...

Looking at the wiki page for this game I now recall that when MS became the publisher they made it a 360 exclusive for two whole years! I now remember how pissed off this made me at the time. What a slap in the face for PC gamers. Companies like Intel and Nvidia even used footage of this game to sell their hardware...
