Best overall game of this entire generation? Any system and pc included!

My pick is going to a game that just came out of no where. The concept sounds really stupid when you explain it but when you play it you understand. It's a complex game at the core that can include players from any skill level. This game requires teamwork and discipline if you want to play it well. It's a social game that never gets old. The developer gives away free DLC like it's candy and better yet I got it for FREE when it released on the Playstation 4! Still played by millions across the globe.

Witcher 3, and it isn't even close.

The amount of meaningful content in that game is staggering (~150 hours to complete all quests in base game). The game world was so detailed it actually felt alive, something I've never experienced before in a video game. I felt like I was actually walking in the shoes of Geralt of Rivia in this living, breathing world.

It completely blows away any other open world offerings, includng Skyrim and BOTW. In a way, it's ruined gaming for me as I now compares every game to it, and no game compares.

FINAL FANTASY XV, DARK SOULS 3,NIOH

DOOM for the old school fps players, been gaming on fps since 97-98.

BF1 for the online experience, the game has grown on me and I would rank it up there with BC2

Breath of the Wild. Odyssey is great but BotW felt like going back in time because it was so fresh. Odyssey very well be the better game but BotW is the one I've enjoyed most.

@joebones5000: I love both games, but BOTW simply can't compare to the Witcher 3. Hyrule was a large but empty world. Only a handful of living souls can be found and interacted with. It's a game about isolation. I'm sure that's largely a limitation of the hardware, but it's still a limitation.

TW3 was a much larger game world, filled with hundreds of named NPCs and thousands more unnamed. You could feel the despair radiating from every malcontent and oppressed character. It felt like a real fantasy world. We've never seen that kind of detail in a video game before.

I don't think any game ever made has come close to that level of "liveliness" that it has. It's the new moral, character, and narrative complexity standard in a AAA package.

Bloodborne/Overwatch - I'm at a virtual tie in my mind between them

Witcher 3 is my game of the gen so far followed closely by UC4 and HZD.

I can't decide between those 3. If forced I'd go with Origins on my Pro, seeing as my Pro is better than my PC. I haven't played Witcher 3.

I love Breath of the wild and divinity 2, but they still are quite a long way from the greatness that is TW3!

Oh that's easy: Disgaea 5. It is so, so good.

Honorable mentions: Civ 6 (which will get better with every add on) and BotW (maybe I forgot some)

Horizon - Easily the best surprise hit of this generation from a studio people used to mock and say were no good and it's a new IP too!!

Best game overall ... ? Witcher 3 easily. It had it all. From graphics to soundtrack to massive open world to great and memorable characters and story to great quest system to length to voice acting to .. you name it. Easily the best overall game this gen, we like it or not. It had it all.

FH3 or RotTR. Mop the floor with all others. :P

Witcher 3 second, it was great, did a good job with the side quest but didn't addressed other open world issues like Zelda did.

I don't know what I would go with decisively. It would be hard to narrow it down to one game.

Sonic Mania. That game is beautiful fun, and fast. Can't stop playing it!

Honestly a little too much fun. Game made me hemorrhage from PC gaming. Now I play casual games like console CoD.
