I gotta say silent hill is my favorite, its more psycological than resident evil. its a bit more clunky combat, but its really creepy and unsetteling.

May not be a series (Yet?) but Eternal Darkness is my fav Horror game followed closley by RE.

best horror game of all time is Maniac Mansion. They should have made a crap load of those games.

Resident Evil....At least the re-make on the Gamecube. I rented it to expierience the Crimson Heads again. :(

Holy crap Dude!!! I loved that game, That post just bought back so many memories, one of the first games I ever played (Legend of Zelda being the first), wow I hope it makes it onto the Wii's VC...

Not as a series but Doom 3 is extremely scary when you turn up the volume on 750 watt speakers...alone.

Silent Hill and Project Zero are the scariest overall series of games. But the single game which scared me most has to be the Resident Evil GameCube remake. In my opinion, it's one of the best and scariest games ever made. I expect the upcoming Clive Barker's Jericho to be pretty scary though.
