RE5 and Killzone 2 are on par with each other imo.

Killzone 2 has better animations
RE5 has better textures
They both have equal character models imo

But Killzone 2 has large-scale areas, I dont know if RE5 is only close quarters combat stuff all the time.

Yup. I would have to agree with this one. It looks fantastic!

Although it looks good graphically, it's tied with many titles- Killzone 2, Mirror's Edge, FarCry 2, Star Ocean 4, and some others.

Graphics are getting much better next year.

They've already said the red barrels are not explosive, they are just barrels of gasoline and that when you shoot them they just leak gas for you to ignite not just arbitrarily explode like every other game.

The actual gameplay footage, even though it is reusing a lot of RE4 stuff, doesn't look the same as the trailer footage. I still think Dead Rising is the best looking console game so far. It's got colour, it looks fantastic and is balls-off-the-wall awesome. RE5 is going to be balls but not as much balls as Dead Rising.foxhound_fox

Rage? we haven't seen much but if they can pull of the visual quality of the trailer it will be up there.

It's the same thing, red barrel blows up in the end.

It's just funny people complain about KZ2 and Uncharted but when games like Gears and this have something similar, nothing is said.

anyways, I think I know what foxhound means. I believe Capcom adds a bit more effects and details in the cutscenes which is probably why it doesn't look exactly like the gameplay screens. I also noticed that most of the time, Capcom doesn't use any blinking or mouth moving on their characters during gameplay (though I did see Sheva move her mouth when talking :o Capcom is learning??). I guess that it's all about making sacrifices to keep the game moving smoothly.

Finally someone that agrees with me! DR is the most realistic looking game IMO too, but RE5 is superior in some aspects.club-sandwich

Man RE5 and Killzone 2 are both absolutely GORGEOUS games.......We're going to have to see on the release of both which one comes out on top.

Killzone 2 looks better but this is freakin beautiful. I stopped at chapter 4.5 in RE4 cuz frankly the controls suck but this time Im gonna finish RE5 FOR SURE! :D

One thing that kind of got to me though...the animations are plucked directly out of RE4 :|. It basically looks like RE4 with very much updated graphics. Not a bad thing but they better fix the control system.

Can I criticise without being crucified?

I don't like how details are lost through over saturating light or shadows, I mean it is bright enough to add light glare on some of their equipment in the first image but yet there are parts where it is simply a black smudge and all the details are lost.

Maybe I'm just over analyzing
