Crazy how high it scores when all the reviewers made complaints about complex controls and difficulty. Guess they wanted a more easier experience like Elden Ring. But yet such a high recommended percentage. Crazy.

I love different takes over established franchises. Specially after how disappointing 3 was for me.

@hardwenzen: Thing is, since it has stylized graphics and lots of reading, it might make a profit off 100,000 copies. I kinda wish more developers would go this route, instead of putting so much time and money making sure all the character's nose hair physics are behaving realistically enough. Would allow them more creative freedom beyond aping the Assassin's Creed 2 template.

Looks interesting. Love novel ideas. And I wish we saw more originality among AAA devs.

@judaspete: True, then wouldn’t have to force your consumers to buy console bundles with the game cause you fear poor sales.

One button combat and complex controls don't belong together. That 79 on meta has my worried though.

@joshrmeyer: The complexity stems from controlling Cereza and Cheshire at the same time. One button combat for each becomes twin-stick and two-button from multiple angles.

This is actually pretty cool. Bayonetta is definitely turning into a very important Nintendo franchise, who would have said that 10 years ago?

And yes, there is no way Cereza is just going to be absent from future games, even if Bayonetta 3 wasn't that good and i'm not sold on this particular take, i'm actually hyped for what's next for the franchise.

If this had come along before Bayonetta 3, I think a lot of folks would be pissed. But considering they just released that a few months ago, and made very clear Origins is a spinoff, and made it look so different from the mainline games, most people probably won't be too upset. It's a side story for fans that might like seeing a different side of the character, or gamers that never played the other ones but like whimsical fantasy shit. Plus, it lets Platinum do something different, with less risk of failure than a new IP (see Okami). Those who want Bayonetta 4 can easily skip this.

Looking at the amount of inteterest in this thread alone, EVEN after it gets a very high score, at this point i am thinking that they'd be lucky to sell 50k copies. Nintendo needs GP like service to rent their shovelware to people for a monthly fee.

I’m cool with it being different gameplay wise from the previous games. It looks like a very interesting addition to the overall franchise. Don’t how it’ll do in sales but that’s certainly not going to affect my enjoyment of the game one way or the other. 🤷‍♂️

The best Bayonetta is 360. But after that the franchise is a bit boring so I am happy for a change.

It's like the old games where a sequel can be different like in Fallout 2 and Fallout 3. Very different and now more popular too.

This makes sense too because Switch is not good for high performance graphics.

Before I think that the game should come home to Xbox. But you can see working with Nintendo that it is becoming something that now belongs on a Nintendo.

Uh.. they released a remastered version thst performs well for everyone … except Switch which is more like the 360 version lol

The cows on the other hand have been on a streak, a 1.5 year sad sack streak. They finally broke some of it with gow but one game isn't enough. The VR gimmick ain't enough either.

Bayonetta performed amazing on the 360, and you're saying it runs "less bad" on Nintendo. So you're saying it performs better on Nintendo and that's not great? Are you getting your words right?

The biggest clunker in the room, is it ran atrocious on the PS3. Anything is better than the PS3 version.

This game is soooooooooooo good! Highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the demo and am glad my save file transfers over! I just picked it up.
