BF4 on ps4 doesn't look next gen at all actually. Sure there's a big difference between ps4 and last gen but who the F cares how it looks on 8y old systems? of course a console released in 2013 surpasses it. Now if BF4 looked like Infamous and ran a proper 1080p then i'd be very impressed.

lets see what infamous looks like with 64 player multiplayer

that's why i said i'd be VERY impressed. infamous is also an open world game and BF4 isn't. Burning fire and particle effects are super low rez in BF4/ps4 while they're stellar in Infamous.
lol 900p 30fps
Bish calm yo tits its 60fps
lol not it isn't. not on ps4.
Battlefield is 900p, 60fps on the Playstation 4. It looks pretty good, actually.
BF4 does actually look very good... best way I can describe would be the game has a very clean image, with smooth frame rate. Which is odd considering the game is 900p. I still give the edge to Killzone in the graphics department, but BF4 is the better game.

I heard CoD Ghosts is also 30fps but im not sure, would mems_1224 be kind and confirm it for me?
if it is, my bad. i just remember that digital foundry article saying that both consoles were mostly between 40-50fps.
Could very well be. The singleplayer was a smooth 60. Don't know about the multiplayer.

lol well i was talking about multiplayer. only lunatics play battlefield's single player :P
The game annoyed me when I was trying to complete the single player ( I know, BF games are meant to be multiplayer, but I like completing the campaigns). It crashed on me five or six times while doing it. And it was that annoying glitch that corrupted your save.
The game itself looks ok. I don't think it's anything amazing.
lol 900p 30fps
Its actually 60fps fyi
bf4 MP on ps4 is 900p w/ no deferred AA, all settings excluding terrain decoration/effects quality/mesh quality/shadow quality on ultra(the first is custom setting probly close to the low setting on pc, the latter 3 are very near to the high setting on pc). fps avg is 47 to 48 factoring in the more demanding scenarios. other than lack of AA, it looks very similar to the pc version. effects quality on ultra in pc version does provide a solid improvement when looking at vegetation through smoke, but effects quality on ultra is also performance destroyer on even the fastest single gpu money can buy.
looks last gen compared to "PC"
not really. I have bf3 on pc and bf4 on ps4 and they both look great. I actually perfer the new gens battlefields on ps4 more. (Although i loved bf2 on pc back in the day).

I didn't get the game until X-mas (got killzone and AC at launch) so all those issues were ironed out and I never had any issue at all with bf4 on ps4.
@Midnightshade29: well you're lucky and I believe you. I've been very unlucky with it. I've tried it as recently as January and still got my file corrupted.
It's the best looking console version but I play at 1080p on ultra settings at true 60fps not the average of 40 something that ps4 gets so no I wasn't really impressed. But if all you know are consoles it doesn't matter. You will be amazed and the differences probably won't be that noticeable to you if at all.
Your OP doesnt even have enough material to make this a decent discussion me thinks. Also, no 900p lol
@Cranler: mp does not average anything close to 60fps it's in the 40s throughout. If you want claim "60fps" you gotta average at least 57. Ps4 averages in the 40s from what I saw. Maybe possibly but it really 50 but no where near 60fps. But again most console gamers don't even know the difference. It could be locked at 30fps and most people here wouldn't know if they weren't told. Not because they are blind but because they aren't used to 60fps and don't really know what it feels like.
i love how back in BF3 days, console peasants would say LOL barely a difference because they are watching youtube video's, now that they can see a ps4 version compared to a ps3 version in real life they actually see a difference... hmm its almost like youtube compresses video or something... its too bad most peasants have never seen an actual gaming computer with maxed out settings in real life, they just watch video comparisons and say, "barely a noticeable difference" like titanfall LOL

Well you can't get a proper average when the fps is capped. Every pc benchmark is with framerate uncapped.
Watch this vid and you see there are many sections where the fps is at 60 and if the framerate weren't capped then obviously it would exceed 60 fps and end up with an average of about 60. Plus this vid is from around the launch, there may have been performance improvements since then.

...so your average is based on something you can't know

You must be new to gaming or never seen or done a benchmark. A 60 fps average will typically consist of a fluctuation from roughly 40-80 fps.
You really think an uncapped framerate would have as small a fluctuation as 60-44? Link some benches to prove it.
See here for an example of how the fps fluctuates http://www.bf4blog.com/battlefield-4-retail-gpu-cpu-benchmarks/

BF4 is a great looking game on PS4 for sure. The problem with it is that it is not noob friendly! Anyone who starts playing now better just accept getting turned inside out for about 30 levels. You start with crap guns and crap gear in this game. You have no chance against a guy that has had the game since launch. BF4 is far too gear dependant!!
