Some have suggested a BF3 Official Discussion and I now agree with them because there have been quite a few threads on the matter and will be a lot more. So let's keep it all here.
BF3 Footage:
- Thunder Run (SP tank gameplay
- Battlefield 3 Operation Metro Gameplay Snippits
- Full "Fault Line" gameplay trailer
- Frostbite 2 Tech Demo
- Off Cam E3 Multiplayer Footage
Stuff we know about the online (note do not have source for all because a lot was discussed during that 4 hour long webcast yesterday for BF3)
- 64 players on the PC and 24 players on the PS3 and 360 (DICE devs said they decided to keep graphical quality instead of upping player counts)
- Dedicated servers for all platforms
- 4 ****s (assault, support, recon, engineer)
- Assault now has the medic duties
- Support carries ammo
- Recon is demo expert but has poor close-range weapons
- Engineer carries AT and can fix vehicles
- Health regen is confirmed but health will only occur if there is no combat going on and will happen slowly. (confirmed during yesterdays webcast)
- Support LMGs can now "suppress" enemies. Suppression makes the players screens blur and accuracy drop. Also prevents health regen.
- Snipers who are prone can be seen by sun glare off of their scopes.
- Vehicles now can be partially disabled
- Individual crew members can be killed in a vehicle depend on where the vehicle was hit
- Vehicles have a tiny bit of health regen, but need to be fully repaired by an engineer. No reason was given for this yet.
- You can toggle modes of fire on weapons (auto or semi)
- Support gunners can deploy their bipods and the gun will swing on the axis of the bipod when not looking down the scope
- Squad leaders now have the ability to call in a UAV and remote drones, full info on their full potential has not yet been released. Not sure if you can only spawn off of squad leaders or if you can spawn off of any squadmember
- No commander, squad leaders have more power now.
- There is also the new blinding mechanic, and the thermal vision for tanks.
- Engineers carry flashlights that can blind people in dark places such as subway stations.
- People can shoot out lights to create dark areas.
- Spotting allows you to see who is the squad leader.
Will update with some screens and whatnot.
